Historia
Crushes are harmless—unless they involve your best friend’s grumpy, off-limits brother. Gannon Brewer is the epitome of my type. He’s at least ten years older than me, emotionally unavailable, and highly disagreeable—a walking red flag in a tailored suit. But do I listen to that? No. In fact, when his office plants start dying, I convince myself that I can ignore the pheromones and save the philodendron. Now I’m in his office every week, dodging sinful smirks and heated stares, reminding myself to reach for the watering can—not him. But one “ivy incident” changes everything.

Wonderful narration pairing
Revisado: 04-18-25
--“This woman owns me, and I don’t think she realizes it.”
I didn’t realize I needed a serious shot of Gannon until I started this book. He’s been a mystery throughout the first 3 and I just couldn’t get a handle on the enigma that he was. But man, oh man was I hear for his unveiling. He certainly met his match in sassy Carys. With verbal taunts, a quick wit, and over the top flirting she throws Gannon off in all the best ways. But is she hiding something? She’s got a confidence in her sexuality but you know it’s hiding some deep fears. Gannon’s doing his best steering clear of her but when “only sex” is on the table now he’s trying not to fall harder than a ton of bricks.
Carys works her magic gradually peeling away the layer of Gannon’s shell. Her caring for him is a beautiful thing to experience and as we dig deeper on what made Gannon so closed off.
--“Oh my God, His smile. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen on him. There’s no tightness, no mischief-no cocky remark on the tip of his tongue. He’s truly smiling at me for the first time, and it leaves me breathless as our kiss.”
I fell so hard for both Carys and Gannon. Two people bound and determined to keep their hearts in tact yet as they fell it was their openness I loved and how Locke wrote that intricate weaving. She knocks it out of the park in that magical way she writes with emotional complexity and steamy yearning. It’s filled with some of my all-time favorite tropes: age-gap, grumpy/sunshine, found-family, workplace, best friends older brother and a loved-starved male lead. This series about the Brewers may be one of my top favorite series I’ve read.
--“She falls into my arms, and I capture her mouth with mine. Instead of being fueled by lust, our kisses are fueled by something else. Something greater. A different four-letter word that we’re both afraid to say.”
Angelina Rocca narrates Carys’ role and really enjoyed her lightheartedness that was perfect for portraying free-spirited Carys. I think she really nails Tate in this book and she does such a good male voice putting a perfect snarky spin on his voice. Gannon is voiced by Jack Callihan and, oh my, he is soooo spot on for that role. He ideally depicts that “I’m bewildered by her, can’t think straight and hate losing control “ vibe. Gannon is so messed up in the head for her and Callihan conveys that to perfection

Historia
Humpback whales are among the most intelligent animals on Earth. Some scientists believe they might even surpass humans in self-awareness, empathy, and communication skills. In this episode, we swim with a whale as he teams up with other humpbacks to use bubbles to catch fish, rescues a sea lion, and puts his own spin on melodies sung by whales across the Pacific Ocean. This is the world in its natural state, defined by seasons, routines, and cycles. By the time this whale is ready to close one eye and go to sleep, you will be too.

This is an up-all-night listen ❤️
Revisado: 02-08-25
Just when I think LB Dunbar’s last HEA couple is my favorite, she writes another! Judd Sylver and Genie Webster’s heartbreaking and heartwarming story will have you staying up late to finish this one. Lordy, Judd is just that blend of tortured soul battling his inner demons, with deep feelings and protective nature that had me swooning and wanting to hug him.
This second chance is more about a first chance that never got around to happening. Would that be the missed opportunity trope or the one-that-got-away trope? Judd and Genie were new friends in high-school with a budding romance that never got a chance to take off. Judd stood her up at prom and disappeared and she never forgot that and never found out what really happened that night. Now years later, Genie is back in town and Judd doesn’t want this opportunity to pass him by. I’m loving these two together!! Judd, his tortured love-starved soul needs to see a different way out of the darkness. And Genie, who never felt the true love of family gets a glimpse of what being supported wanted really feels like from Judd and his siblings.
Ryan West and Erin Mallon narrate this grumpy sunshine small town romance. Ryan really embodies Judd’s deep emotions, portraying a man trying to hide his hurtful past. He did SUCH a great job, that I felt it all with his performance. And Erin’s narration of Genie really made me feel her struggles of being excepted by her mom and finding her place again back in her home town. This audio is a 5 star all the way and will definitely be on my top faves of 2025.

A little white lie never hurt anyone . . . or so I thought. One fake date and we’d go our separate ways, at least that’s how hockey’s hottest golden boy—Nixon Sinclair—convinced me this would work. But it turns out, Nix had other plans. Now I’m sneaking around with my brother’s teammate, refusing to admit he’s everything I want but never knew I needed.

Sexy and fun
Revisado: 10-22-24
Nixon and Kenzie gave me all the romantic feels I needed for this friends-to-lovers, fake-dating romance. Nixon has had a crush on her since he was a hormone infused boy. And now he’s fake dating her. Can this turn to something real? Nixon’s directness is sexy as hell. He’s so sweet how he loves her. And his rapport with his family and friends is hilarious.
I just love romance is like this. They go down easy. They are entertaining and fun to listen to. It’s sexy and makes you feel good by the end of it. And let me tell you it’s steamy with a capital S. Throw in some praise kink and it’s a memorable listen.
Lance does such a good humorous snarky character and it’s perfect for Nixon, especially when he’s chatting with all his friends, ribbing each other as friends do. I did think that certain parts of his narration were a bit sing-songy for my taste. But overall, his style worked for Nixon’s personality. Erin Mallon personifies Kenzie and her struggles with love. The pair of them worked well together.
Although I’ve only read the first book in the Kings of Kroydon Hills series I didn’t feel I was missing anything with this second-generation book. Bella Matthews does a great job at world building and not making me feel lost with all of the past characters making a presence. It made me want to jump in and read the back log and enjoy all of the books before this.

Eight years ago she burned me. Now, my ex is the key to my revenge against her family. The rest of the world calls her the Princess of Wall Street, but I call her shallow. Traitorous. A she-devil in Prada. Those are the nicest words I’ll use for my ex, Cora Margulis, since I’ve made it my mission to keep her name off my lips. Though I can barely keep her memory out of my head. My brothers and I have climbed the rungs of success, starting from the basement. Now that we’re at the top, I don’t lack much. But my newest charity needs a particular type of building.

The book and narration are perfection
Revisado: 10-19-24
This is book 2 in the Bad Boys of Wall Street and completes the duet about Cora and Axel’s story. We pick up 8 years later after book 1 ends. The boys have made it. And when Cora comes back into Axel’s life, revenge is the only thing on his mind. Or so he thinks. How Ember Leigh writes the opening description of NY from Axels POV is truly amazing. I don’t know what sort of magic crack Ember Leigh has put in this book but lord I’ve never been so addicted.
The emotions are so high and thick it was palpable. Axels intense feeling of hate and revenge and Cora’s emotional deep regret and loneliness came through so deeply from both narrators. I need to hear more from Narrator Jill smith. Her performance blew me away. She brought so much feeling to Cora, my emotions were high throughout the book. Jeremy York narrates the role of Axel, packed with the angst Axel feels about Cora being back in his life. Their pairing was perfection. I’m not one who relistens but I already have done it with this one. It’s that great.
Ember Leigh is fast becoming one of my new favorite authors. And I can’t wait for the rest of the audios in this series.

Historia
Love doesn’t break us; it makes us whole, my nana used to say. However, one minute, my world is set on fire, literally. The next, I am raising a six-year-old as a single mom without a clear path ahead of us. No place to live. No job. No money. I’m returning to Sterling Falls to claim what’s mine, then there will be no looking back on this beloved small town, a place I consider a handful of sand in the hourglass of my life. Then again, Clay Sylver has shaken up that ancient time clock. The silver fox in his forties is a bit cocky, but solid in every way that matters.

Amazing pair of narrators
Revisado: 10-09-24
I can’t rave enough about how much I love that LB Dunbar focus’ on older main couples that are 35+ years. They are sexy and smart with wonderful stories. And Sterling Clay brings all that and more.
It takes a lot for Mavis to trust, as her ex did a number on her and especially her son Dutton. So, letting her guard down is huge for her. Clay assumed he wouldn’t ever be in a relationship but his feelings for Mavis hit him hard, feelings he’s actually had for years but she’s never been available. Clay is one of those strong solid protectors oozing with sex appeal that make your heart flutter. Experiencing these two coming together is what I love about romance books. I really enjoyed them getting to know each other and see Clay fall, not only for Mavis, but her darling son, Dutton. Clay’s developing relationship with him will just melt your heart.
Both of these narrators I haven’t heard before and I’m excited discover new narrators. I love how Willa James voices Mavis. There’s so much feeling in her performance. And she really has a great male voice. It has a husky raspy element to it. Oliver Highpoint embodies clay perfectly, with a slight edge when he protects what’s his and has a softer tone for Mavis and her son Dutton. Both are a great pairing.
I’ve really been enjoying this series so much and I can’t wait for the next one.

Jill and Jeremy's narration are a perfect pairing
Revisado: 10-07-24
This book is the prequel to the series The Bad Boys of Wall Street”. It’s based on the romance between Axel Fairchild and Cora Margulis in their college years and gives a brief foundation of how the Fairchild brothers start their business. It sets up book 1 which is Cora and Axel’s story. Cora comes from a wealthy family and they do not approve of her relationship with Axel. He’s the product of the foster system and is struggling to make ends meet while he finishes business school. Not what daddy Margulis thinks is good enough for his daughter.
I love ember Leigh’s writing. This story has so much happening and yet it doesn’t feel rushed. Family obligations, ultimatums, manipulation, betrayal, angst. Oh, the vengeance Axel feels for Cora’s father. It’s setting up such a fantastic tension in the next book. What her parents do to her and the choice she has to make hits home for me. I so felt for her. I was crying for both of them by the end.
Jeremy York is a great Axel, and uses a range of emotions as Axel is being tested on his love for Cora and his animosity for her father. I love Jill’s narration and the huskiness of her voice works well for the male voices also. And wow, how she performs during the heart wrenching scenes near the end are perfect
Overall, a great prequel to a new series. I jumped in with both feet and enjoyed every second of it. I can’t wait for the first book.

I didn't mean to star in a sex tape, okay? It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds. It just happened. Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston's nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan. The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family's oil company. Little does she know, that's not the only pipe I'll be laying....

Revisado: 07-08-24
A shout out to Virginia rose for a fantastic narration with her varied voices and her Boston accent for Sailor. JasonClarks also rocks the accents and her female voices are amazing. I haven't read the All Saints High series yet so I was a bit lost with some of the backstory of Hunter. I think it was probably for the best given that he really was/is a man-wh0re. But getting deeper into his history explains a lot of it. Not sure I'm convinced about a long term HEA though. Overall, very entertaining.
