This book re-broke my heart.

Betty White was always a part of my life, which began in 1973. The Golden Girls remains in my top 3 TV shows of all time. I watch the whole series once a year. We all know how beloved she was by the world. To hear just how beloved by her best friends, and just HOW truly amazing she was, was a rollercoaster. I wasn't surprised by any of the wonderful things I learned from Patty Sullivan's 50+ years of friendship with her. But I understand even better why the loss of this wonderful woman, wife, actress, activist and friend is always going to hurt. But it's so nice to know that even after everyone who loved her during her life is gone, her actions and passions will still have positive impacts for decades to come. Thank you, Patty Sullivan, for sharing the times you and your family spent with her. Hearing your last visits, and your goodbyes broke my heart again. Because I can watch her any time I want, it's been hard to believe she's actually gone. But these words from her loved ones made it real. "Thank you for being a friend" is a bit cliche' to me. I think "Thank you for being" works better.

A very bright light went out in this world when she died. I have memories of her spanning my entire 50 years. We need more Bettys now more than ever. Her compassion, humor, good nature and talent helped shape the entertainment world as we know it. It was really nice to hear some of her story in her own words.

Why do reviewers have such a problem with

Mr. Idle "name dropping?" The man is famous. He met and became friends with famous people. What, did you want his sortabiography to go like this?

"On March 20,1989, Tania and I went to the corner coffee shop at 11am. The coffee was good and hot. Then we went home."

Please.

Anyway, I really enjoyed this. The humor that made The Pythons legends, myths, whatever, comes through in droves. It's what I expected, and I got it.

The chapters detailing George Harrison's attack, later death, and memorial made me cry, though. Besides hearing about the deaths of dearly departed Pythons, it was the first time a Python made me cry NOT from laughter. George was my favorite Beatle, and I got that from my now late mom. She would be just two years younger than Mr. Idle, and I credit her too for my Python fandom. How many kids watched "Grail" for the first time with their mom, trying to finish before Dad got home?

May the remaining Pythons live for many more healthy, ridiculous years. When they're all gone, we can find comfort that they can all gather and strangle John Denver again. ❤️

That ANYONE can get sucked into a cult. I discovered Spencer and his book on Roberts Blevins' "Life After MLM" podcast. The parallels between the"School" cult and multi level marketing companies were easy to make. I likened Sharon to the whacked out DeAnne Stidham of LuLaRoe infamy. Happy to know Spencer is out, doing well, and telling his story. If you're in a MLM company, you're also in a cult, and you too can get out.

Fantastic all around!

This is one of the best books I have listened to in months! The storytelling and character development were superb. Mr. Ballerini handles multiple characters very well.

I only wish this was a true story. But let it symbolize the many stories of bravery, kindness and humanity we will never get to hear. There are probably thousands that were never told, either because their tellers were murdered before war's end, or the survivors could never bring themselves to share.

Wonderfully and honestly written.

I appreciate Ms. Presley's honest and emotional telling of her story. I had meant to read it for years, but it took this year's Elvis movie to give me the push I needed. I applaud her for putting everything out there in the way only she could. So many people saw Elvis as a king 😉 or god. She showed us he was a flawed and complicated man who was trying his best. Just a human being, though in very different circumstances, was just trying to get through life like the rest of us.

Don't buy if you want this to be all about LHOTP

You will be disappointed. If, like me, you want to know about the author, it's a good read. There are plenty of places to learn about the show, books, the real people they're based on, etc. But you can only get a good grasp on the actors and what made them who they are, from their own words. The show may have been a huge and transformative part of her life, but there's so much more to her than that. Give it a shot. 😊
