Historia
Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is 77 years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus crazy. She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

Relieved when this book ended
Revisado: 12-01-19
Rating this book is difficult for me. The narration was edgy and shrill. I use earbuds and had to keep adjusting the volumn. Narrator emoted instead of letting me interpret the characters as written by the author.

Historia
People say Beartown is finished. A tiny community nestled deep in the forest, it is slowly losing ground to the ever encroaching trees. But down by the lake stands an old ice rink, built generations ago by the working men who founded this town. And in that ice rink is the reason people in Beartown believe tomorrow will be better than today. Their junior ice hockey team is about to compete in the national semifinals, and they actually have a shot at winning.

Narrator died not allow the author to speak
Revisado: 08-16-19
I am visually impaired and am grateful for Audible books.I am usually listening to books while at the gym on a treadmill and use quality earbuds. This narrator performs the book as a dramatic reading rather than allowing the author to speak to the reader. She speaks rapidly in some places and slow in others. Her volume ranges from loud to quiet. She makes me wish I could read this book rather than having to listen to her. It is an excellent book, well written and I am so sorry I won't be reading the follow up because of the narrator.

Historia
Shy reporter Mr. Tibble is close to losing his job because he only writes about cats. But when an act of kindness brings him into contact with the unusual Miss Minou, his luck suddenly begins to change. Minou provides Tibble with juicy news. But it's who is giving her the gossip that's newsworthy. Minou claims that the tips come from her local feline friends, who are the eyes and ears of the neighborhood. Tibble is appreciative but can't help wondering: How could this be? And why is Minou so terrified of dogs and so skilled at climbing trees and rooftops?

Cannot finish this book.
Revisado: 01-16-19
I listened to the first few chapters of this book and the narration was so annoying I had to stop and take a break. I decided on order to be fair that I should start all over. I listened for a few minutes and could not continue. The narrator over emotes which is distracting and takes away from the personalltirs of the characters thus disallowing the listener from getting to know them as written by the author. I really wanted to hear this book but had to stop listening. I am legally blind, subscribe to Audible and have listened to many recorded books. This is the first I have not completed. Overall and story ratings are impossible to judge but must he done in order to submit this review.
