Historia
Nothing is harder to do these days than nothing. But in a world where our value is determined by our 24/7 data productivity...doing nothing may be our most important form of resistance. So argues artist and critic Jenny Odell in this field guide to doing nothing (at least as capitalism defines it). Our attention is the most precious - and overdrawn - resource we have. Once we can start paying a new kind of attention, we can undertake bolder forms of political action, reimagine humankind's role in the environment, and find more meaningful understandings of happiness and progress.

Historia
As a comedian and conservative thinker, whip-smart funny Tom Shillue grounds his ideas about our current culture and political climate in stories from his childhood. Growing up as one of five kids in a devout Irish Catholic family in a small town outside of Boston, Tom sincerely believes that the rough-and-tumble, rules-dominated world in which he came of age was a better America - a time and place that made him into the well-adjusted, happy, successful man he is today.

Earnest and honest, with a good dose of humor.

More of a memoir than a message piece. For anyone who grew up working class in the 70s

You already know this. But need to listen again.

Great insights. Relistening immediately.
While you should know about everything the author says, it is good to rehear. Author gives permission to go against what many financial gurus say - debt can be okay if it takes you where you need to be. Begin as you would like to continue.
