Historia
Alex Sand was spending the evening at home playing basketball with his two young sons when all three were shot in cold blood. A wealthy federal judge, there’s no short list of people who could have a vendetta against Sands, but the gruesome murders, especially that of his children, turn their St. Paul community on its head. Sand was on the verge of a major donation to a local housing charity, Heart/Twin Cities, and with the money in limbo, eyes suddenly turn to his grieving widow, Margaret Cooper, to see what she might do with the money.

Shouldn’t change narrator this far into a series
Revisado: 10-07-23
Love the series but love Richard Ferrone more. The new narrator would probably have been okay if the series weren’t already cemented in our minds with Ferrone as the voice.

Historia
It’s been a minute—or five years—since Jordan Vargas last saw his college friends, and twenty-eight years since their graduation from Berkeley when their adult lives officially began. Now Jordan, Jordy, Naomi, Craig, and Marielle find themselves at the brink of a new decade, with all the responsibilities of adulthood, yet no closer to having their lives figured out. Though not for a lack of trying. Over the years they’ve reunited in Big Sur to honor a decades-old pact to throw each other living “funerals,” celebrations to remind themselves that life is worth living.

So good
Revisado: 09-08-23
I’m usually not a fan of a author who narrates their own books but in this case it was a excellent match.
Loved it!

Historia
Jessup's stepfather gave him almost everything good in his life - a sober mother, a sister, a sense of home, and the game of football. But during the years that David John spent in prison for his part in a brutal hate crime, Jessup came to realize that his stepfather is also a source of lethal poison for his family. Now it's Jessup's senior year, and all he wants to do is lay low until he can accept one of the football scholarships that will be his ticket out of town.

I very rarely take the time to write a review but this one deserves all the stars! Excellent listen, proving there two sides to every story.

Historia
At Twin Oaks Country Club, there are the fortunate ones, and then there are the rest of us: the waiters, the caddies, the valets, and in my case, the cabana girls. Most days, I’m poolside in a pleated skirt, dishing out margaritas to tycoons and titans. It’s not exactly my dream job, but it does come with one perk.... James Ashwood. He’s my silver lining in a custom black suit. Besides being a legacy member at the club, he’s a tech mogul and Austin’s most eligible bachelor.

Whiney indecisive girl
Revisado: 08-22-22
Good writing, poor story. Main plot is a girl wants the hot guy, doesn’t want him, wants him, doesn’t want him. Make up your mind already. The rest of the story around that was good and Brittany Pressley saved the book or I probably wouldn’t have finished it.

Grabbed this because I was in a hurry and needed a new listen. Thought it would be just ok but turned out it was funny and entertaining. A good narrator can make or break a book and in this case he made it better.

Might be a better read
Revisado: 08-23-21
A good narrator can make a good book great, and a bad narrator can ruin a good book. In this case I think the book would have been better as a read than a listen. Wow, the narrator was really hard to endure.

Historia
It’s been a decade since Trumanell Branson disappeared, leaving only a bloody handprint behind. Her pretty face still hangs like a watchful queen on the posters on the walls of the town’s Baptist church, the police station, and in the high school. They all promise the same thing: We will find you. Meanwhile, Tru's brother, Wyatt, lives as a pariah in the desolation of the old family house, cleared of wrongdoing by the police but tried and sentenced in the court of public opinion and in a new documentary about the crime.

Kirby Heyborne fans don’t be fooled
Revisado: 05-23-21
So, if you’re like me and the narrator is as much of the story as the actual story, you’re going to be disappointed. Not that the narration was bad, it wasn’t, it was pretty good; but listing Kirby Heyborne as a narrator was misleading at best. He had less than 5 minutes total talk time. He has been the reason I have purchased many books in the past , including this one. He can make an ok book good and good book great.
As for the story itself; meh. It was drawn out and could have wrapped up in half the time. The narrators did a good job and I’ll look for more of their work in the future.

Revisado: 01-28-21
First half was a good story but the end was super rushed and left something’s unexplained. I gave it 4 ⭐️ but only because Xe Sands was the narrator. She can make a only “ok” book into a good one.
