Historia
Alex Cross is back - and so is a raging and suicidal Gary Soneji. Out of prison and dying from the AIDS virus he contracted there, he will get revenge on Cross before he dies. In addition, we are introduced to a new pair of rivals whose paths cross that of Alex and Soneji. Thomas Augustine Pierce has been chasing his demon, Mr. Smith, since the savage murder of his fiancée. Mr. Smith is a unique monster, with actions toward his victims so insane - so unimaginable - that he is thought of as "not of the Earth".

Narration just about ruined it.
Revisado: 01-28-22
Ghatak and Harding should be banned from ever narrating another book. Although this is not Patterson's best writing, the story was suspenseful and entertaining. I stopped listening multiple times because the narration was truly that awful. Found myself wondering why Hachette would hire Oscar the Grouch to play Sampson, why are children voiced with nagging, detested, nose wrinkling mockery, why are there 6 characters with a southern drawl for no reason, how could anyone get Boston or New York accents so wrong? My recommendation is to buy this one in print.

Meh
Revisado: 12-14-21
If you listen to this book increase the narration speed to at least 1.2 for increased enjoyment and decreased boredom. Overall anticlimactic, one of the least thrilling mystery/thrillers of all time. There are some excellent psychological thrillers that grip the audience despite a lack of action; The Silent Patient, Girl on a Train, The Telltale Heart, and Rear Window come to mind. This wasn't one of them. Narrator does a great job with voices, accents, genders, age ranges, etc.

Historia
The moon peers out from behind the dark clouds, but deep within the swamp, even the tiniest sliver is like a beacon in the pitch black. The path is barely discernable, but she knows the way. She steps up to the edge of the water and stares at the silver locket in her hand, a picture of two girls inside. One is her. The other…is waiting. She begins to sing, and the winds pick up her tune. The water stirs, and from the center of the angry current, the young woman emerges. Her haunting voice carries over the water.

Dreadful
Revisado: 11-04-21
Dreadful writing, dreadful plot, dreadful performance, truly dreadful. Stop reading after book 3 in the series. Ms. McKay needs to spend some time in Louisiana. Dreadful deserves zero stars; but one is the worst Audible allows. Don't waste your credit.

Sherlock Holmes is the greatest detective in literary history. For the first time since the death of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a new Holmes story has been sanctioned by his estate, whetting the appetites of fans everywhere. Information about the book will be revealed as deliberately as Holmes himself would unravel a knotty case, but bestselling novelist and Holmes expert Anthony Horowitz is sure to bring a compelling, atmospheric story to life.

Standing Ovation
Revisado: 10-05-21
No wonder Doyle's estate sanctioned this piece. It is absolutely astounding that anyone could seamlessly match Sir ACD in voice, style, and brilliance to resurrect Holmes and Watson correctly, though many other authors have tried and failed. True fans will not be disappointed. Jacobi is a perfect 100% gold star performer as always.

1. Cancel the cruise.
Decent book in a Seinfeld-ian sort of way, ie: Howard made a whole story based on non events and misunderstandings.

Snuggly wonderful

Perfect for the season. Lovable characters and setting with solid plot, exciting climax, and charming denouement. However, the whodunnit mystery side was too easy and obvious for my taste.

Out-damn-standing!
Revisado: 06-19-20
I invented reasons to keep listening. In my retired army opinion many in this genre fall short. Carr nails it. Doesn't overkill the specs and details like Clancy, doesn't dwell on problems like some, doesn't glossy-glorify it like others... Just crushed it man. Reese is the best fictional antihero since Reddington.
