Historia
The story centers on a London lawyer named Gabriel John Utterson, who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr. Henry Jekyll and the evil Edward Hyde. The work is commonly associated with the rare mental condition often called "split personality" where, within the same body, there exists more than one distinct personality. The work is frequently interpreted as an examination of the duality of human nature, usually expressed as an inner struggle between good and evil.

It was fine. Not much more...
Revisado: 08-06-18
If you know the premise of the story, don't expect to gain much more. It's everything I knew before I read it. The only bother was that with so many make characters they chose a female narrator.

A young man commits all types of sins, but only his portrait shows the ravages of his life. Oscar Wilde's Faustian classic. Gothic horror at its best.

Inconsistent Voices for Many Characters
Revisado: 07-30-18
Oscar Wilde can be verbose and preachy at times, but that is almost to be expected from him. The story was quite good overall and suprised me by straying from the obvious ending (or at least what I found to be obvious). However, the man reading this speaks in a different voice to represent Dorian so often that it can be hard to tell who is speaking. If you're really paying attention you can get past it, but it's quite a big let down.

Historia
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Much Different than Expected
Revisado: 07-23-18
The narrating was amazing, but I'm feeling slightly let down by the ending. I feel as though I had so many of ideas of what Dracula was going to be from media over the years that I can't help but to wonder when we began to stray from the original. Not bad by any means, just not what I was expecting.
