I may be a fangirl
Revisado: 01-31-16
The Darkover series was my introduction to scifi/fantasy for older audiences, and I was thrilled to see that some of the books had made it onto audible. Rediscovery is a later book in the series, but it is written in such a way that you do not need to have foreknowledge. The narration is spot on, and helps to bring Darkover to life.

Great Story, but performance could be better
Revisado: 01-31-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. The story is original, and although the narration starts out rough it gets much better.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Caeser. He was absolutely hilarious.
What three words best describe Justine Vannucci’s voice?
Bright, expressive, at some moments grating
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed throughout most of the book, but there was a part that made me bawl like a little girl.
Any additional comments?
I don't have anything to compare this to because it's that unique. There's a bit of obscure mythology mixed in with a solid story base. It's not high brow, but not everything has to be. It's fun. I wouldn't recommend this for children, though.

I was all geared up to continue my journey when the narrator's voice brought me up short. I had gotten so used to the dulcet tones of James Marsters that I didn't even stop to check. I only got 5 minutes in before I had to quit. I'll be reading the text version of this one...

Historia
Gail Carriger created a fascinating steampunk vision of Victorian England in her “intoxicatingly witty” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) debut novel Soulless—the first in the best-selling Parasol Protectorate series. Changeless is the second in the series and finds Alexia Tarabotti, now the Lady Woolsey, quite put out after her werewolf husband goes missing. So, armed with her trusty parasol, Alexia boards a dirigible and heads for Scotland to find him.

Can't Move on Now
Revisado: 01-19-13
This book really messed with my head in the end! It's an amazing series, with characters that seem almost too real. I tried to pick up a book that I already owned before buying the next, but Gail Carriger's world won't let me go until everything from the last book is settled.
That said, it takes a truly excellent story with peerless narration to pull me in this far. I laughed and cried with Alexia, and I look forward to continuing the series.
