Fun, Entertaining Mystery
Revisado: 10-16-21
This book was a delight to listen to. The combination of family dynamics, a small business owner trying to relaunch her family's legacy ice cream store, and the meta murder mystery elements is a winning combination.
Also it really made me want ice cream.

Enjoyable Mystery
Revisado: 09-17-21
I enjoyed the mystery and the character of Harper has a lot of gravitas and depth. I found the information about lightening strike survivors incredibly interesting.
In the last third or so, it kinda seemed like the mystery was dragging and that some of clues should been pieced together by the characters sooner than occurred.

I enjoyed this sequel to the Dungeoneers. Particularly the elf who was revealed to not be as shifty as intially thought and the belaggereed and bedraggled pirate captain whose parent is trying to kill him.

Nice to Follow Some Component Adventures for Once
Revisado: 08-04-21
I found this book fun and from a unique perspective. The Dungeoneers were such to follow particularly when the bypassed the puzzles on the lock by just ramming down the door with a battering ram.
I also liked how the liche arranged things to get our main character involved in the story. And that our hapless guard was actually really observant but side gated due to him solving the murder of a sheep.
And that the main character ended up the king of a flooded kingdom.

Absurbist Sci Fi with Characters that Grow on You
Revisado: 08-04-21
I enjoyed this absurbist Sci Fi tale. And while the main character was little annoying in the beginning his enthusiasm grew on me maybe around the time he tricked space Guantanamo into adding him to the employee registry. (I did like the reveal that he was born wealthy and that he put in comfortable lighting for the escape tunnels.)
The reveal that the wife character used to be a professional killer before she met the captain main character was simply incredibly amazing. As was the prison breakout where the artificial gravity kept turning on and off.
The joke about the engineer who nevers leaves the engine room saving the Captain was a delightful pay off. As was how they crew tricked the security guard into a space RV cruise towards the sign after he was exposed to space goo.

Historia
Rosemary Harper doesn't expect much when she joins the crew of the aging Wayfarer. While the patched-up ship has seen better days, it offers her a bed, a chance to explore the far-off corners of the galaxy, and, most importantly, some distance from her past. An introspective young woman, she's never met anyone remotely like the ship's diverse crew, including Sissix, the exotic reptilian pilot; chatty engineers Kizzy and Jenks, who keep the ship running; and Ashby, their noble captain.

One of the Best Sci Fi Novels I have Ever Read
Revisado: 08-04-21
This is one of the best sci Fi books I have ever read. I loved the feminine energy of the book. Very few Sci Fi books focus on communication or the different parenting styles of different species and I believe this is a great case of where having more diverse Sci Fi author's results in a boarder u Ivers of science fiction stories being told.
Also I enjoyed that like Harold and Kumar go to White Castle the title summarizes the plot.

So much Setup. So Little payoff
Revisado: 08-02-21
At the time this book was the longest Audio book me and my husband had ever listened to @ 24 hours.
Unfortunately all that setup and buildup lead to a terribly rushed and unsatisfactory ending that just had more questions than answers.
I did like the reveal that Christopher Marlowe was revealed to have been faking his death and this revelation almost broke the world.
I also liked how a corporate policy on appropriateslang and jargon just created more problems and people shorted the Jargon Approval Policy to a racial slur so the Jargon Approval Policy itself had to be amended.

Too many Brits
Revisado: 08-02-21
I love the Magic 2.0 series but I have always found the character of Brit rather grating.
This book is pretty much nothing but Brit and I didn't enjoy it very much.
Also I thought Brit breaking up with Phillip because he agreed to help the older Brit was extremely messed up.
I did like how it was a Phillip of the future that was trying to prevent Martin form doing his actions.
It was also cool how the FBI agents introduced in the first book were revealed to be working for a much older Brit.

Sometimes the universe gives us Shaq and powers
Revisado: 08-02-21
I absolutely loved this book and the narration.
The opening sequence where the main character is going on very bitterly about how Shaw left the Orlando Magic and how she is on government registry for being telekinetic but she can only lift a one pound weight over her head if she is sitting is pure comedic gold.
I loved that the main FBI agent was competent and not corrupt.
I really loved Gretch 's revealed interactions with the murdered FBI agent.
I loved how Gretch used the skills learnedly during her many, many jobs and that the main character is a bit of a fuckup who is reestablishing her life after messing up majorly.
I loved the GOAT social group and advocacy organization for the telekinetics and how Assirae used her fear to try to build something positive.
I also really, really Loved Gretch's insane love for all things Orlando
A belly laugh out loud book about how despite our prejudices and fears people are just people. Some are good, some are bad, and some are absurd.
Bye the way: The fact that the book end with the main character being immortalized by a telekinetic boy band with the song "Save me like Gretch Wilson" pushed the book from amazing to one of the greatest of all time.
