Not interesting at all
Revisado: 12-30-24
I fast forwarded through gratuitous sex on to the second to the last chapter and did not miss a thing. Even guess the ending. Don’t bother if u want substance in a book.

what an incredible performance

This combination of wit, romance and comedic responses was so wonderful. BR made the story come to life in the best way possible. She sounds just like Antonio Benders and her female voice is so feminine and sweet. Just LOVED my experience with this audible title. More of this combo please!

Historia
Heroic bookseller Laurent Letellier comes across an abandoned handbag on a Parisian street. There's nothing in the bag to indicate who it belongs to, although there's all sorts of other things in it. Laurent feels a strong impulse to find the owner and tries to puzzle together who she might be from the contents of the bag. Especially a red notebook with her jottings, which really makes him want to meet her. Without even a name to go on, and only a few of her possessions to help him, how is he to find one woman in a city of millions?

Love narrator but this is not one of his finest

This happens in France and everyone speaks with a French accent and they all sound somewhat similar. Did not enjoy it at all. Very very silly storyline.

Loved it but somewhat stressful!
Revisado: 09-25-24
I know we have our own reasons for selecting certain books. Mine is to escape my day-to-day stresses. I like something to take me away and not add anxiety to my life. This book, although very well written and performed, stressed me out, and that’s the only negative thing I can say about the book.

What a story of love and betrayal and loss. It was like reading three different stories all at once. Highly recommend this book of intrigue and suspense. Great character development.

Historia
In the eyes of London Society, Gillian Phelps is suitable enough. Though the ton whispers about her change of residence, any speculation remains just that: ballroom gossip. No one—not even the other Huntresses, the group of ladies she calls her dearest friends—knows that she is harboring a devastating family secret. Gillian has become adept at hiding the reality of her circumstances, but the close quarters of a house party will test her ability to conceal the crushing truth. And with so many people to deceive, the late arrival of another guest is a most unwelcome surprise.

Boooooooring!!!!
Revisado: 09-02-24
My goodness what a waste of time. Tried to listen to the entire book so that I can judge logically based on the entire story and not just a portion. Big mistake. The hero was written like a woman. I like my hero’s to be masculine and strong. Something a woman can lean on if need be. That was not the case here. Conversations between them sounded so exhausting to listen to. Absolutely nothing clever about the characters. If anything they seemed to be simpletons. Definitely returning this title.

The story was at three stars for me until the last few chapters
Revisado: 08-28-24
To be honest with you, I feel this performer sounds like a talking serpent like in Disney movies. She puts TH after every word that ends a sentence. And the melancholy she puts in her voice in addition to repetitive over and over melancholy of the characters was exhausting and depressing. I believe fast forward listening the last few chapters helps give this book a better rating.

As atheist, I enjoyed the book
Revisado: 08-18-24
I was initially irritated by the amount of religious lessons given. However the introduction of orpheus made a world of difference to me. His forgiving nature made me so much kinder and more forgiving in my life. As I listened to him I wanted to be better too. Not religious but better as a human being. He inspired me not religiously but as a person which I believe all religions aim to do. Create better people. Loved listening to it.
