Historia
It is the summer of 2011, and Nour has just lost her father to cancer. Her mother, a cartographer who creates unusual, hand-painted maps, decides to move Nour and her sisters from New York City back to Syria to be closer to their family. But the country Nour's mother once knew is changing, and it isn't long before protests and shelling threaten their quiet Homs neighborhood. More than 800 years earlier, Rawiya, 16 and a widow's daughter, knows she must do something to help her impoverished mother. Restless and longing to see the world, she leaves home to seek her fortune.

Historia
Amber Sand is not a witch. The Sand family Wicca gene somehow leapfrogged over her. But she did get one highly specific magical talent: she can see true love. As a matchmaker, Amber's pretty far down the sorcery food chain (even birthday party magicians rank higher), but after five seconds of eye contact, she can envision anyone's soul mate. Amber works at her mother's magic shop - Windy City Magic - in downtown Chicago, and she's confident she's seen every kind of happy ending there is: except for one - her own.

Love the reader. The story is fun and meaningful and not the typical take on fantasy. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Historia
Priceless, book one: "My name is Rylee, and I am a Tracker." When children go missing and the Humans have no leads, I'm the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot. I'm on the FBI's wanted list. I have a werewolf for a pet, a Witch of a best friend, and no need for anyone else in my life. But when a salvage starts to spin out of control, help comes from a most unexpected direction.

A good listen for a great price
Revisado: 07-04-20
A fun variety of characters with interesting character development over time. Nice comic relief that contrasts with the very serious nature of the protagonist. Another strong, vulnerable, clever, often irritable and compassionate female lead. 👍

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Revisado: 05-16-18
Well written and well read. An extraordinary story about an exceptional man rising from the segregated south only to be brought down in our supposedly post-segregation country. A rare window into life in the south.

Historia
After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan—a.k.a. Sir McHotpants—witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn—the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies—to make her an offer she can't refuse.

Pretty good
Revisado: 02-13-18
I liked it but didn’t feel carried away by the story of the featured couple. Performance was good. I liked that the writing was sophisticated enough not to hit us over the head with phrases like, “ruggedly handsome” or similar tropes.

Inspirational not usually my style
Revisado: 02-13-18
I wouldn’t normally pick up a book that was labeled inspirational, but I like this book. It’s not heavy handed with the religious messages. They fit into the story. The characters are fun and individual. It was nice to see a couple mostly treat each other well and not lie but still have hurdles and challenges. Overall, fun and light with a nice message about healing from trauma.

So much imagination from this author
Revisado: 10-11-17
I don't know how Jodi Taylor comes up with these wonderful and different stories. This is the same Taylor that creates loveable characters and witty banter. But this book has deliciously chilling paranormal undertones. It's different and the same. I recommend unless you're going to be spending lots of time alone in the dark when you listen and you get easily spooked. I don't read or listen to scary books and I did fine but I can see how in the wrong circumstances there were a few places when I might have gotten uncomfortably scared.
