this is My first introduction to this world and it's very interesting and fun to listen to and read. I enjoyed the series immensely and the the reader was exceptional.

My least favorite of "The Seven Swords" series

Anthony Ryan is one of my favorite fantasy writers. I've read or listened to everyone of his books. This book felt rushed. The character development and interaction seemed repetitive, especially when it came to Seeker. She's turned into a whining figure, completely obsessed with her daughter, yet seemingly oblivious to the carnage that her daughter has wrought under the influence of the "desiccator". The best part for me was her morning-star exploding in Seeker's hands. What I thought it lacked was the magical/mystery aspect of the the previous books.

It starts out slow, and I was fearing it would be a continuation of the last book, bloodlines. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised at this wonderful gift. I thoroughly enjoyed this audio masterpiece.

I liked all of the voices except for Grog's.

Grog's voice sounded like it was almost computerized. I enjoyed the audio version, but it would have been better had Grog had a better voice.

Enjoyable charachters

I enjoyed listening to the audio version of Pilgrim 2. Mikael Naramore does an excellent job doing the voices of various characters and I laughed out loud a number of times. The story was engaging with a twist that I didn't see coming at the end.

A lot of filler and little plot develpment

FAR TO MUCH TIME IS SPENT IS SACRED VALLEY. I don't know how many times "he felt his heart drop", "they scanned him", etc.. The book is short and could have been even shorter. This book was obviously rushed. Travis B. is excellent, even with the subpar materiel. Why not focus on Fury accession more? Or focus on the development of relationships. I didn't care at all about the inhabitants of sacred valley and the book did not surprise me in any way.

good book except

one of the greatest frustrations of this series is the author's tendency to repeat the same plot information multiple times sometimes within pages of each other. we know how proud min is of sevendoor! if there's so much fluff in this book that it ruins what is a good story. what's interesting is you could actually condence the entire plot line down to it chapter. do I care what color so-and-so as hair is and her brooch? lol

A unique gem

The ultimate con. This is "The Sting" set in a unique universe with a plot that will keep you guessing. The writer combines a fresh universe with stories within stories. Where will biological engineering take the human race? The end of the book is one that I will never forget. The narrator knows how to build a plot into a crescendo. It's a brilliant, moving story.
