Slow at parts and unsatisfying ending
Revisado: 01-24-25
If you want resolution, this is not your book. The book just kind of abruptly stops, and you never find out what happens for the characters.

Historia
The funniest, most popular kid in school, Charles Aubrey Rogers suffered from depression and later addiction, then ultimately died by suicide. Diary of a Broken Mind focuses on the relatable story of what led to his suicide at age 20 and answers the why behind his addiction and this cause of death, revealed through a mother's story and years of Charles' published and unpublished song lyrics. The closing sections focus on hope and healing - and how the author found her purpose and forgave herself.

Book was good. Narrator was irritating.
Revisado: 02-07-21
I appreciated the book and the story it told, but at times, the narrator was hard to tolerate, and I just can’t understand why this was the narrator chosen for this. She read like a robot, her sentences running together, as if there were no periods. And when she read the rap lyrics, her “low” voice was raspy and grating on my nerves. Don’t mean to be harsh, but it really ruined the listening of this book for me.

HAS to have had a laugh track added
Revisado: 02-11-20
Did not think this was funny at all. It says it was performed live (and maybe it was), but there had to be a laugh track added bc there is no way people were laughing THAT hard at what he was saying. Found the “over-laughing” very irritating. Only made it through 10 minutes.
