Historia
Religious liberty is under attack in America. Your freedom to believe may not last much longer. To all those who say they don't care about the culture war, Erick Erickson has only one response: "The Left will not let you stay on the sidelines. You will be made to care." Now the former editor in chief of RedState.com joins with Christian author Bill Blankschaen to expose the war in America on Christians and all people of faith who refuse to bow to the worst kind of religion - secularism - one intent on systematically imposing its agenda and frightening doubters into silence.

You think you’re not in the culture war? You are, whether you know it or not. And one day, the forces of “progress” will come after you, your business, your family, and you’d better be ready to defend your God-given rights under the Constitution.
Listen to this book. It will scare you, and encourage you as you get into the fight, however hard you wind up having to fight.
But you will fight in some way, shape, matter, or form.

Different voices are impeccable.
Revisado: 04-20-19
This book is compellingly read by a talented reader -- or I should say actor.
With many different people directly quoted in the text, each gets a unique twist of vocal pitch, tone, and even raspiness to distinguish one from another. I could detect different characters from the slightest of changes.
What a delight to listen to!

Historia
In this seminal work that has spent more than 30 years in print, Dennis Prager and Joseph Telushkin explain the reasons behind anti-Semitism, the world's preoccupation with the Jews and Israel, and why now more than ever the world needs to confront anti-Jewish sentiment. Prager and Telushkin examine in detail how anti-Semitism is a unique hatred - no other prejudice has been as universal, deep, or permanent - and how the concept of the "chosen people" spawned that hatred.

The history revealed in this book struck me deeply. The fact that so many people in so many cultures believe so many things that are just not true -- more evidence to me that God is real and He has His people.

Historia
The most important words ever written are the Ten Commandments. These words changed the world when they were first presented at Mt. Sinai to Israelites, and they are changing it now. They are the foundation stones of Western civilization. Given their staggering importance, you would think that all societies, and certainly our educational and religious institutions, would be intent on studying them closely. Sadly, this is not the case.

Dennis Prager can put things in such easily understood terms that no one should leave this book without being well informed on the subject.
I had not heard his description of "taking the name of the Lord your God in vain" anywhere else, and that insight will stay with me a long time.

Historia
When you ask people about their most cherished values in life, "happiness" is always at the top of the list. But surprisingly few people claim real happiness. We seem to be completely satisfied with nothing, and indeed, there is little correlation between the circumstances of people's lives and how happy they are.

Historia
Throughout his distinguished and unconventional career, engineer-turned-molecular-biologist Douglas Axe has been asking the questions that much of the scientific community would rather silence. Now, he presents his conclusions in this brave and pioneering book. Axe argues that the key to understanding our origin is the "design intuition" - the innate belief held by all humans that tasks we would need knowledge to accomplish can be accomplished only by someone who has that knowledge.

Exquisite!
Revisado: 05-22-17
Having read a few blog post reviewing this book, by evolutionists, I conclude that they don't really want to engage Mr. Axe on the subject.
They would rather caricature his ideas, ridicule his credentials, and generally make fools of themselves by simply reiterating the naturalistic positions that Mr. Axe is challenging.
"Well, we know evolution is true, and Mr. Axe does not know what he is talking about."
That's basically their argument.
Listen to this book. Get an education in common science, which is a real thing. And kudos to Mr. Axe for coining the term.
Those who hate the Truth have no coherent response to it. This book is great, and I'm listening again right now.

This is one book I have to listen to a second time right away. It is so densely packed with information that I have never heard before, and told from a first-person perspective as well, that it is super compelling. Everybody needs to hear or read this book!
Listen at speed 1.25 though, because her voice is a bit halting. Still, I'm glad the author read it herself.

Historia
Why is it that so many efforts by liberals to lift the Black underclass not only fail, but often harm the intended beneficiaries? In Please Stop Helping Us, Jason L. Riley examines how well-intentioned welfare programs are in fact holding Black Americans back. Minimum-wage laws may lift earnings for people who are already employed, but they price a disproportionate number of Blacks out of the labor force. Affirmative action in higher education is intended to address past discrimination, but the result is fewer Black college graduates than would otherwise exist.

Rapid fire and right on target.
Revisado: 07-05-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Hands Off My Gun to be better than the print version?
I've not read the print version.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Hands Off My Gun?
Dana's personal stories illustrating her great knowledge of guns compared to liberals who think they know what a magazine or a clip is -- but don't.
I learned that liberals want to ban guns and accessories that make guns "shootier," in Dana's words, but they don't affect the functionality of any particular gun. So the bans -- or regulations -- mean nothing in the grand scheme.
Which scene was your favorite?
The recounting of the confrontation at Wounded Knee -- one of the worst gun grabs in American history.
This nonsense has been going on since the beginning. When will we ever learn?
If you could give Hands Off My Gun a new subtitle, what would it be?
Just 'Cuz It's Black Doesn't Mean It's Evil.
Any additional comments?
Everyone should read this book. Listening to it was fantastic!
