I disliked the character Rye (not sure if I spelled his name correctly as I was listening to audiobook) and his dishonestly. But there are always those in our society unfortunately that seem to be able to lie without a conscious.

Historia
Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne.

I really enjoyed this book. I was born in 1957 so the events of the book took place in a time that I was in my late teens. Everything in it brought me back to the 70’s. I loved so many bands during those days and traveled to so many concerts! It was all so fun. I saw Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks perform and remember being mesmerized by Stevie Nicks! Her long flowing dresses and jewelry were much like what was described in Daisy Jones character. I am really looking forward to the movie release on Amazon soon. I am delighted to know that Riley Keough is performing Daisy’s character! Can’t wait to see it!

What a wonderful tribute to Johanna Bonger!
Revisado: 02-15-23
I loved this book. Learning about the love and determination of this young woman to stay true to her cause of enlightening the public to the work of Vincent Van Gogh! We’re it not for her courage and determination the world might never have discovered his beautiful art. I went to the Van Gogh exhibit in Cincinnati last summer and briefly read about Johanna so when I heard about this book I really wanted to read it! Emsley’s story is a nice tie in to modern day times and was enjoyable as well. But the life of Johanna Bonger is the true wonder of the book! Thanks to Marta Molnar for bringing this wonderful story to us! Please write more historical fiction! So sorry Johanna’s diaries were only made public after you had to work so hard to obtain the information!

Historia
As children, Sam and Elli were two halves of a perfect whole: gorgeous identical twins whose parents sometimes couldn’t even tell them apart. They fell asleep to the sound of each other’s breath at night, holding hands in the dark. And once Hollywood discovered them, they became B-list child TV stars, often inhabiting the same role. But as adults, their lives have splintered. After leaving acting, Elli reinvented herself as the perfect homemaker: married to a real estate lawyer, living in a house just blocks from the beach.

So enlightening!
Revisado: 12-24-20
I so enjoyed this book by President Obama. I firmly believe that he will go down in history as one of the most moral, dedicated, intelligent leaders of our time. I was so proud of his performance in the White House. It was so enlightening to hear of the up close and personal account of his experiences leading up to snd becoming President of our great country! It has broken my heart to see President Trump work to destroy all the good that Obama tried to accomplish. I am so grateful for such great leaders as President Obama snd their service to our country. Thank you for this personal account of your days serving our country. I wish a good life to you and your beautiful family. I only wish we could have another leader as good as you. I hope a President Biden can help our broken land but he has an extremely difficult task and faces so many whose main mission in life is to oppose any good he tries to do. Again I enjoyed this book and wish everyone realized what a good person you are and how you always had our country’s best interest at heart.

Historia
More than 15 years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, the theocratic regime of the Republic of Gilead maintains its grip on power, but there are signs it is beginning to rot from within. At this crucial moment, the lives of three radically different women converge, with potentially explosive results. Two have grown up as part of the first generation to come of age in the new order. The testimonies of these two young women are joined by a third: Aunt Lydia. Her complex past and uncertain future unfold in surprising and pivotal ways.

I did not enjoy this book
Revisado: 01-29-20
This Book definitely did not live up to the hype. To me it felt like the author was just trying to come up with some way to end the handmaid’s tale. With what you know about aunt Lydia from earlier it was difficult to believe that she would take a turn and go against Gilead.
It was a struggle to stay with the book until the end.

Wonderful book - awesome narrator
Revisado: 12-06-19
From the very beginning the reader is gently drawn into the book. Each character is developed so well and the reader is drawn into the family dynamic between Carley, Hunter and Patty - as well as Carley’s nephew John Paul. It is easy to identify strongly with Carley’s desire to engage in time travel in order to save her Baby’s life. The 9/11 tragedy ties in well with the story as that event foils Carley’s attempt to get back to 2001. I loved this book and couldn’t hardly stop listening. In addition, the narrator is excellent. I was not sure I would enjoy a book about time travel but I definitely did!! This was indeed a delightful book to listen to!!

Historia
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. But small-town Kentucky quickly proves equally claustrophobic, especially living alongside her overbearing father-in-law. So, when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically. The leader, and soon Alice's greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman who's never asked a man's permission for anything.

Such a wonderful book!
Revisado: 11-05-19
I enjoyed this book so much! It is the best book I have read in quite awhile. Mrs. Moyes has captured the very essence of eastern Kentucky culture as it probably was in the 1930’s. As a native Kentuckian I am grateful for this book as it tries to portray the complexities of the coal mining industry and how it has been such a blessing and a curse of the Kentucky people. I love how the author strives to demonstrate the pride in the Appalachian people and how she illustrates how deeply we love our beautiful state!!
