Historia
Eve Hatch lives for surprises! Just kidding. She expects every tomorrow to be pretty much the same as today. She loves her cozy apartment in Brooklyn that’s close to her childhood best friend Willa, and far from her midwestern, traditional family who has never really understood her. While her job is only dream-adjacent, it’s comfortable and steady. She always knows what to expect from her life . . . until she finds herself expecting after an uncharacteristic one-night stand.

LOVED everything about this book. The story is captivating and the narration brought the characters to life. I've never had 17 hours go by so quickly! I cannot wait to get to the next in the series, and so thankful there are more books to look forward to!

Historia
Nestled into the cliffs in southern Italy's Amalfi coast, Positano is an artist's vision, with rows of brightly hued houses perched above the sea and picturesque staircases meandering up and down the hillside. Santina, still a striking woman despite old age and the illness that saps her last strength, is spending her final days at her home, Villa San Vito. The magnificent 18th-century palazzo is very different from the tiny house in which she grew up. And as she decides its fate, she must confront the choices that led her here so long ago.

I loved this book and everything about the reader. The fact that the author was the reader is so awesome! The story is captivating and the visualizations from the author's descriptions are so captivating. I loved the various character voices which made the story come to life. I haven't listened to a book by this author before, but this one is only the beginning if her other books are as captivating!

Historia
Two years ago, Olivia Martindale left behind her Montana hometown and her husband, Jace, certain it was the best decision for both of them. Back temporarily to protect her almost-adopted daughters from their biological mother, she discovers an old, handwritten cookbook in the attic. Its pages are stained and torn, their edges scorched by flame. Some have been smeared by water or tears. The recipes are written in different hands and in different languages.

Sweet story
Revisado: 09-18-21
This was my first Cathy Lamb book and it was a good one. The story pulled me in and had me rooting for the characters to find their way. It talked about the messiness and imperfections that we all face in life but end up finding where we need to be which really spoke to me. The narration was really fantastic as well. Highly recommend!

Historia
Caroline Murphy swore she'd never set foot back in the small Southern town of Peachtree Bluff; she was a New York girl born and bred and the worst day of her life was when, in the wake of her father's death, her mother selfishly forced her to move - during her senior year of high school, no less - back to that hick-infested rat trap where she'd spent her childhood summers.

captivating
Revisado: 06-05-21
This is a great story of a family and life. It isn't necessarily groundbreaking, and honestly it is a little difficult to describe why I enjoyed it so much, but I think maybe it is because anyone can relate. we may have different troubles through our lives and different families, but we all have good times and bad and this book is like a snapshot of life. The narrators were perfect and truly added to the story overall. I highly recommend!

Historia
At once profoundly personal and far-reaching, Exit Interview with My Grandmother serves as a meditation on the beginning of a young woman’s life and the series of questions that arise from examining love, loss, family, memory, and death. Moving between cities and centuries, Meyersohn probes her family's Jewish history and her grandparents' relationships in part to decipher her own young queer relationships, but also to examine how we ought to behave in the face of a world riddled with uncertainty and doubt.

interesting and thought provoking
Revisado: 05-28-20
Having dealt with family issues and seeing my parents and grandparents age and go through dementia, the authors description of how those changes in life feel and change us were very accurate and in some ways liberating to know we all go through them. I have no experience with being Jewish or a lesbian, but the author's description of some of those struggles was well done and gave me some things to think about.

Historia
It begins on the shaded town square in a sleepy Southern town. A spirited seven-year-old has a brisk business at her lemonade stand. But the little girl’s pretty yellow dress can’t quite hide the ugly scar on her chest. Her latest customer, a bearded stranger, drains his cup and heads to his car, his mind on a boat he's restoring at a nearby lake. The stranger understands more about the scar than he wants to admit. And the beat-up bread truck careening around the corner with its radio blaring is about to change the trajectory of both their lives.

I still miss Dick Hill...but this is a good one
Revisado: 11-05-19
I enjoyed this book and the action packed tough guy story that makes me keep going back to Reacher. I do still miss Dick Hill as the narrator because he even though I do like Scott Brick as a narrator, Mr. Hill was Jack Reacher for me. I'll get over it..some day. Overall it was a good story, lots of action, and what you would expect out of Reacher and Lee Child.

great story, worth a listen
Revisado: 04-29-19
This was a fantastic book! I liked the different voices for the different characters. The story was extremely compelling and I was hooked in the first few minutes of listening. The detail in the book was perfect-enough for me to clearly visualize what was going on, but not too minute to lose me. Really just a great story with surprising twists in the plot and a satisfying ending.

Great story!
Revisado: 11-11-18
I enjoyed this Reacher book as it was a classic beat em up that we all know and love from Reacher. And in the end, of course he saved the day. I missed Dick Hill as the narrator, because his voice IS Reacher for me. I have enjoyed Scott Brick as the narrator of other similar type books, so didn't mind his voice. There wasn't much difference in the sound of the voices of the various characters, however, so sometimes I was lost in the intertwining stories going on. That was one thing I loved about Mr. Hill - I always knew when he was portraying Reacher. So now I'll be waiting for the next Reacher book...maybe Mr. Hill will come out of retirement for that one...?
