Annoying narrator
Revisado: 07-29-24
The story is good, and if the narrator could silence his mouth noises, this would be a good book. Trying to block out every moistening of the narrators lips, swallowing, and inhalations is disgusting and annoying. The noises are so bad that it’s hard to concentrate on the story.

Historia
The Cincinnati detectives question everything they know - and everyone they trust-in the new novel of romantic suspense from New York Times best-selling author Karen Rose. Homicide detective Adam Kimble is no stranger to battling demons. But Meredith Fallon is a different kind of weakness: one that could actually be good for him, if only he would let himself depend on her.

Too long
Revisado: 05-08-24
I like long books if the book is long to tell the story. This book was unnecessarily long. The story could have been told in half the time. The narrator does not help the boredom of an unnecessarily long book. There is no change in tone from character to character. The only change the narrator performs is men spoke in a deeper voice while women spoke with a higher voice. This book was free, but even being free, I will not invest my time in another book from this author or performed by this narrator.

Too much
Revisado: 02-01-24
There are too many story lines happening at the same time to keep up. I was at chapter 12 and realized I gad no idea what was going on. That theme followed the entire book. I believe I will retire this series.

Historia
On the snow-covered slopes of Utah, the unthinkable has just become a nightmarish reality: thirty Secret Service agents have been viciously executed and the vacationing president of the United States kidnapped by one of the most lethal terrorist organizations in the Middle East - the Fatah Revolutionary Council. But surviving agent and ex-Navy SEAL Scot Harvath doesn't believe the Fatah Revolutionary Council is responsible for the attack.

Great story & performance
Revisado: 01-12-24
Until recently I would have said this story was a little too far fetched to be believable, U S Senators and the Vice President arranging to have the President kidnapped. But the way some of the members of our current Senate and House are behaving makes it plausible.

Mediocre
Revisado: 01-08-24
Everything about these three books is mediocre, the writing, narration, and the stories. All of the women are written as bitchy, and the word "stupid" is thrown around too frequently. Will Trent is written as a police detective with dyslexia and hides it in every aspect of his personal and professional life. Between growing up with abuse in a group home and being called stupid by his female supervisor, Will Trent is defensive to the point where if anyone even draws a smiley face on a note he takes offense to it thinking they are making fun of him. I will not buy anymore in books in the series.

Historia
A fresh start. That's what Becca hoped the move from New York to Redemption, Wisconsin would be for her troubled family. A way to get her crumbling marriage back on track, and to bond with her difficult 16-year-old stepdaughter. But instead of a new beginning, Becca is thrust into a mysterious past she barely remembers. A past that includes the complications of interacting with her old teenage crush, Daniel, as well as living in her aunt's old house. A house with a violent past. A house the locals swear is haunted.

Juvenile
Revisado: 12-29-23
This may be a good preteen book. The plot is juvenile and runs the cliche gambit. Ghosts, inheritance, evil new husband, alcoholic behavior. The protagonist’s solution to everything is a glass (read bottle ) of wine, even first thing in the morning. Three quarters of the book is written to make the reader believe one thing is happening (ghosts), then toward the end you get whiplash being thrown into another direction for the book’s ending, which is unbelievable. I can believe that a new husband may want to steal his new wife’s inheritance, but the way this part of the story was thrown together is unbelievable. I completed this book but I was shaking my head in irritation and disappointment. Save your credit.

Historia
A deafening explosion rocks a historic Oklahoma City hotel, sending archaeologist Faye Longchamp-Mantooth crashing to the lobby floor. Faye's in town for a conference celebrating indigenous arts but is soon distracted by the aftermath of the explosion, which cracks open the hotel’s floor to reveal subterranean chambers that had housed Chinese immigrants a century before. Faye's fascinated by the tunnels, which are a time capsule back to the early 20th century - but when the bodies of three children are discovered deep beneath the city, her sense of discovery turns to one of dread.

Slow
Revisado: 12-14-23
Once I got past the explosion in chapter 1, it was difficult to get interested in the story. Read the book synopsis and you have read the book, nothing else happens. I honestly don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. The narration and story are super slow and monotonous. Save yourself a book credit.

Historia
After a showdown with the notorious Yemeni terrorist known as The Panther, John Corey has left the Anti-Terrorist Task Force and returned home to New York City, taking a job with the Diplomatic Surveillance Group. Although Corey's new assignment with the DSG - surveilling Russian diplomats working at the UN Mission - is thought to be "a quiet end", he is more than happy to be out from under the thumb of the FBI and free from the bureaucracy of office life.

The worst of the series
Revisado: 07-16-23
Scott Brick, as always delivers a stellar performance. It’s too bad the writing didn’t match his performance. I’ve read every book in this series. There were a couple that moved slow but this book had no purpose. I stopped with 4 hours remaining and what I was able to tolerate was filled with an assassin’s thoughts about his plan to kill everyone and set off an atomic bomb in New York. There is very little involving Detective John Corey. Corey took a back seat in this book and his wife was nonexistent. Skip this book and move on.

Historia
Odessa Hardwicke's life is derailed when she's forced to turn her gun on her partner, Walt Leppo, a decorated FBI agent who turns suddenly, inexplicably violent while apprehending a rampaging murderer. The shooting, justified by self-defense, shakes the young FBI agent to her core. Devastated, Odessa is placed on desk leave pending a full investigation. But what most troubles Odessa isn't the tragedy itself - it's the shadowy presence she thought she saw fleeing the deceased agent's body after his death.

It's been done 1998, The Fallen
Revisado: 05-31-23
This book is a knock off of the old 1998 Denzel Washington/John Goodman movie, The Fallen, where a police officer (FBI agent in this book) chases a phantom entity that jumps from person to person causing havoc and killing anyone around the possessed person.

Shooting, killing
Revisado: 05-30-23
There is not much substance in this book, and almost no character development. There is plenty of shooting, killing, & torture techniques. R.C. Bray is the only reason I listened to all of this book.
