Historia
There's no such thing as a perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes—all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediate yes. That is until Xavier opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. Like, really wrong. Of course, there’s nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong . . . unless, of course, he can admit he made a mistake.

Moving and beautiful
Revisado: 04-13-25
The story is yet another impressive creation by Abby Jimenez. Her characters are complex, flawed, and remarkably real, making them relatable as if they could be your neighbors. Well except for the lead male character, Xavier, embodies traits of compassion, romance, and undeniable charm — traits that seem almost too good to be true. Yet, I have yet to meet a guy like him in real life. Samantha stands out as well; she’s refreshing, engaging, and far from the whiny, insufferable female leads I've encountered in other works of miss Jimenez, particularly the “Part of Your World” series. I actually really loved her character and she's probably my favorite so far.
This story tackles genuine human issues and explores how people navigate them. I did find myself tearing up in several moments, but I can’t give this book a full five stars. Abby has a proven formula that makes her stories entertaining and hard to put down, which I respect. However, the ending felt rushed. With only two chapters left, it was clear the narrative was racing to a conclusion. Authors need to slow down! Just one more chapter to fully develop that ending would be ideal. I can’t stand the rushed pace when I know there’s more to explore. Nonetheless, I’ll keep reading and listening to Miss Jimenez’s work — but I truly wish she would take the time to delve deeper!

Historia
Every night, in the college’s ancient cemetery, five people cross paths as they work the late shift: a bartender, a rideshare driver, a hotel receptionist, the steward of the derelict church that looms over them, and the editor-in-chief of the college paper, always in search of a story. One dark October evening in the defunct churchyard, they find a hole that wasn’t there before. A fresh, open grave where no grave should be. But who dug it, and for whom?

Creepy vibes
Revisado: 11-01-24
I have to admit, my experience reading this novella was a bit disjointed. Perhaps it’s because I started on a plane, managed to only get through half of it during my flight, and then finished the rest today as I listened and read maybe I should just have listened because I loved the narrators. Maybe this story is better consumed in one sitting—it's hard to say. I found myself wondering if I might not be sophisticated enough for this particular reading, because I’m left feeling a bit bewildered.
From what I gathered, the story revolves around a diverse group of characters: some are students, including a bar owner and a front desk clerk, while a notable character named Hanna works as an Uber driver. Then there's Eddie, who I think might have been a student as well, or possibly just a journalist working for the campus newspaper—it's not quite clear. Another intriguing figure is Tuck, a man living in an abandoned building.
This eclectic group, referred to as the anchorites, stumbles upon a rather strange site: a hole in the cemetery that piques their curiosity. Their investigation leads them down a path of bizarre discoveries, filled with unsettling events. While the atmosphere certainly had a creepy, cemetery vibe, I feel like I missed some crucial context or meaning, and it left me feeling a bit unsettled.
As I reflect on it, I’m not sure if the book lived up to its $18 price tag. On one hand, it was entertaining enough, but the ending felt abruptly cut off and left me wanting more. It seemed deliberately ambiguous, which might have been the author's intention. However, I can't help but view that as a bit of a cop-out. It feels somewhat lazy to me when authors leave their stories open-ended, claiming they want readers to use their imaginations to conjure an ending. After all, if it’s your story, shouldn’t you provide a satisfying conclusion?
This leaves me pondering whether I would be willing to read another book by this author. Honestly, I'm not sure. The experience was perplexing, and while I appreciate an author experimenting with narrative structure, I feel a desire for more closure in a story.

All the cozy fall vibes I needed
Revisado: 10-09-24
The story captivated me from start to finish, drawing me into the lives of the characters and the charming setting. The narrator's voice added a whole new dimension to the tale, enhancing my experience and leaving me thoroughly enchanted. It's a mystery to me why I didn't listen to it sooner, but I'm so glad I finally did. Now, I find myself yearning for a quaint, welcoming cafe to manage and a picturesque town to call my own. This is the magic of books - they offer a sense of comfort and transport us to idyllic places. Is there anyone out there who lives such a cozy life? For now, I'll content myself with the delightful thought of Jeanie, Logan, and the other townsfolk living happily ever after.

Historia
Eileen Merriweather loves to get lost in a good happily-ever-after. The fictional kind, anyway. Because at least imaginary men don’t leave you at the altar. She feels safe in a book. At home. Which might be why she’s so set on going her annual book club retreat this year—she needs good friends, cheap wine, and grand romantic gestures—no matter what.

Unique story
Revisado: 07-31-24
“A Novel Story" by Ashley Poston had all the ingredients to be a dream come true – a book lover's fantasy of entering a beloved fictional world. While it didn't quite live up to my lofty expectations, the tale still enchanted me with its beautiful descriptions of the town and its inhabitants.
The premise was promising, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the protagonist's reactions didn't quite align with the extraordinary circumstances. Some questions lingered, leaving me with a sense of unfinished threads.
The romance, though sweet, lacked depth and failed to tug at my heartstrings as I'd hoped. Yet, the story's thought-provoking themes and vivid world-building made it a compelling read.
Overall, I recommend "A Novel Story" for its unique charm and beauty. While it may not have fully captured my heart, it sparked my imagination and left me eager to explore more of Ashley Poston's works.

Magically amazing!
Revisado: 07-27-24
A Court of Wings and Ruin is an adrenaline-fueled masterpiece that surpasses all expectations. The action is relentless, and the world-building is breathtakingly expansive. Sarah J. Maas masterfully weaves together multiple storylines, introducing new and fascinating elements while deepening existing character arcs.
Feyre's journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Her courage, resilience, and unwavering love for her family shine through. The complex dynamics between characters, including the unexpected depth of Tamlin's character, are handled with remarkable skill. His transformation and ultimate sacrifice highlight the complexities of love, loyalty, and redemption.
The book's climactic battles are epic in scale, and the stakes couldn't be higher. Maas' ability to create such a high-stakes environment while maintaining character depth is truly impressive.
Immersing myself in this world reignited my passion for reading. A Court of Wings and Ruin is a story that demands to be experienced. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an escape into a realm of magic, adventure, and unforgettable characters. A reread is undoubtedly in my future.

A masterpiece!!
Revisado: 07-19-24
I cannot believe I ever doubted the necessity of reading A Court of Mist and Fury. To miss the enchanting world of Velaris, the complex characters of Rhys and Feyre, would have been a grievous error. This book is a masterpiece!
Sarah J. Maas transported me to a realm of vivid imagery. I could almost taste the air, feel the fear and love, and see the scenes unfold like a cinematic masterpiece. The world-building is unparalleled, and the characters feel like old friends. I've rarely been so immersed in a story that I felt as though I lived within its pages. This book is more than just entertainment; it's an experience.
Cassian, Azriel, Mor, and Amren formed the perfect inner circle, making me feel like a welcomed member of their world. I found myself exploring Velaris's vibrant galleries and savoring its culinary delights. Feyre's journey from human to High Fae was both heartbreaking and inspiring. Her growth, fueled by love and a desire to protect her newfound family, is truly captivating. This book is a testament to the power of storytelling.

Unexpectedly magically amazing
Revisado: 07-04-24
Despite going in with spoilers and mixed reviews, I wasn't expecting to enjoy A Court of Thorns and Roses as much as I did. Even though the plot was largely familiar, I found myself captivated by the world, particularly the intricate political web between the courts and the constant sense of danger. The Fae society with its different courts and magic system was utterly intriguing.
What truly resonated with me was Feyre's unwavering selflessness. Even though she felt no love from her birth family, she sacrificed everything for them. It highlighted her incredible strength and capacity for love, even when she hadn't experienced it herself.
Feyre's fierce determination often led to her putting herself in danger, which provided some surprisingly funny moments! Her persistence in the face of impossible odds was both amusing and inspiring.
But the world-building extended beyond the danger. I found myself particularly intrigued by the Spring Court and its characters, especially Tamlin, Lucien, and Elain. Their kindness and camaraderie offered a stark contrast to the looming shadows, and I can't wait to see more of them.
Of course, there's also the enigma that is Rhysand. The glimpses we get of the Night Court and its mysterious leader have me completely captivated. I'm already impatient to unravel the secrets surrounding him!
Despite initial hesitation, I know I'll be devouring the next book and the one after that. This was a truly enchanting and dramatic story, and I can't understand the negativity surrounding it. I'm so glad I decided to take a chance! Here's to you, Sarah J. Maas, you've gained a new fan.

This was such a good story! I wish I got more of his adventures but what I got was special and I will treasure it! Thanks Miss Shelby for such an amazing story!

Prince Edward Island a great backdrop
Revisado: 06-07-24
This story charmed me! Just the setting in Prince Edward Island and the inclusion of quotes from Anne of Green Gables bumped it up to a 2-star read for me. Add to that a heartwarming story about friendship and the most beautiful romance Miss Fortune has written yet, and this becomes a 5-star read all the way! The author's vivid descriptions transported me to PEI – I could practically see the majestic beaches and charming homes, smell the colorful flowers, and taste the delicious food. Lucy and Felix's love story is truly special, and it will stay with me for a long time.

Authors June Hayward and Athena Liu were supposed to be twin rising stars: same year at Yale, same debut year in publishing. But Athena’s a cross-genre literary darling, and June didn’t even get a paperback release. Nobody wants stories about basic white girls, June thinks. So when June witnesses Athena’s death in a freak accident, she acts on impulse: she steals Athena’s just-finished masterpiece, an experimental novel about the unsung contributions of Chinese laborers to the British and French war efforts during World War I.

The twisted emotions I felt
Revisado: 04-08-24
I had anxiety overload with this book and I am so relieved to have finished it I can't with this type of story is good though don't get me wrong but too thrilling for me I need something slower paced and lots of romance and this was too chaotic too overwhelming and I don't know well but instant think I enjoyed it although it was entertaining I don't know if I liked June or felt bad for her that's why you need to always think about the repercussions of your actions and money is not happiness, rather live a steady life than going thru that hell of craziness I just listened too 😩😩
