Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Great concepts, terrible story telling
Revisado: 08-24-24
The ideas and themes were great, the story telling made me want to fast forward or throw up.
Nobody talks like this in real life and I don’t need the same concept reinforced a minimum of 3 different ways, just get on with it.

Worse, no one believes that she really exists, or that he was ever married. Alone as never before, he must find the woman he loves more than life itself....if she is even still alive. If she was ever even real.

Get on with it
Revisado: 07-18-24
The actual story arc was interesting and the idea was good but FFS, there is no need to reinforce, the reinforcement of the reminder of the point after you’ve already made your point 3 times.
Plus humans who know each other well and are familiar don’t talk like that to each other, especially if they grew up as a woodsman and tracker.

There is a difference between abridged and butchered
Revisado: 06-06-20
The story doesn’t even hang together.
Love Sharpe, and the reader is great.
The clown who cut the story up ruined both.

Good apart from politics messaging
Revisado: 02-05-20
The overall book is worth reading but Mike’s clumsy attempts to add in current politics to polarize whoever he doesn’t like goes against the rest of the theme in the book.

Historia
In The Unicorn Project, we follow Maxine, a senior lead developer and architect, as she is exiled to the Phoenix Project, to the horror of her friends and colleagues, as punishment for contributing to a payroll outage. She tries to survive in what feels like a heartless and uncaring bureaucracy and to work within a system where no one can get anything done without endless committees, paperwork, and approvals. One day, she is approached by a ragtag bunch of misfits who say they want to overthrow the existing order, to liberate developers, to bring joy back to technology work.

I could have coped with the crime story, but the love story was plain, dull and superflus. I only finished because I went half way through trying to find a plot. It didnt come. Dont bother.

Lawyers. Accountants. Software Engineers. That what Mom and Dad encouraged us to become. They were wrong. Gone is the age of "left-brain" dominance. The future belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind: designers, inventors, teachers, storytellers - creative and emphatic "right-brain" thinkers whose abilities mark the fault line between who gets ahead and who doesn't.

Great concepts worth listening to
Revisado: 05-03-15
Great concepts worth listening to, but padded as the central concept while very thought provoking is a short one.
Key point for me was realising my own thought process are in fact the opposite to what myself and most people assume of me, and the thing that keeps me in business is not my logical ability but my creativity supported by the logic.

Historia
In recent years, Google’s autonomous cars have logged thousands of miles on American highways and IBM’s Watson trounced the best human Jeopardy! players. Digital technologies — with hardware, software, and networks at their core — will in the near future diagnose diseases more accurately than doctors can, apply enormous data sets to transform retailing, and accomplish many tasks once considered uniquely human.
