Historia
Magic is fading from Wales—choked off by King Offa’s Dyke, the enemy earthworks that spans the entire border. Even the dragons have disappeared. And now an attack is imminent. Prince Taliesin would love to watch magic die. Prince Dafydd fears it, and the throne. But when their father promises the crown to whichever son can destroy the dyke and restore magic to Wales, the brothers are forced into an uneasy rivalry.

It’s ok
Revisado: 04-08-24
The book was ok. There was some wonderful world building, and there were some parts that got really interesting. My complaint is that there isn’t a whole lot of depth to the characters and because of that, I found it really hard to read and care about the characters at points. I wish we would’ve gotten more battle action, especially since it involves the main protagonist instead of getting a quick “this is what happened” at the end of it.

Historia
Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip - a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfre. The boys are a tight-knit crew. There’s Kent, one of the most popular kids in school; Ephraim and Max, also well-liked and easygoing; then there’s Newt the nerd and Shelley the odd duck. For the most part, they all get along and are happy to be there - which makes Scoutmaster Tim’s job a little easier.

Oh wow wee. This book cured me of my PTSD because the only thing I can think and talk about is how much I hated it.

Historia
Suffer the Children presents a terrifying tale of apocalyptic fiction, as listeners are introduced to Herod's Syndrome, a devastating illness that suddenly and swiftly kills all young children across the globe. Soon, they return from the grave, and ask for blood. And with blood, they stop being dead. They continue to remain the children they once were, but only for a short time, as they need more blood to live. The average human body holds 10 pints of blood, so the inevitable question for parents everywhere becomes: How far would you go to bring your child back?

Very gripping story
Revisado: 07-11-23
I got into this book because of TikTok and was skeptical because sometimes the internet hype can be a little… much. This was a really good read. Not traumatizing, or super scary… just really bleak and thrilling. I highly recommend this book if you want a feel bad book.

Historia
By day, Maeve Fly works at the happiest place in the world as every child’s favorite ice princess. By the neon night glow of the Sunset Strip, Maeve haunts the dive bars with a drink in one hand and a book in the other, imitating her misanthropic literary heroes. But when Gideon Green—her best friend’s brother—moves to town, he awakens something dangerous within her, and the world she knows suddenly shifts beneath her feet. Untethered, Maeve ditches her discontented act and tries on a new persona.

The book was my first intro into the horror genre and I think I’m hooked. I love the female character and the ending was such a gut punch! Highly recommend!
