Awesome story!

I loved this book. Not only did Birdie and Loki pull me on with their romance, their inter dialogue and banter with each other as well as others, but the action made this story awesome. It’s a gritty biker romance, which fans of biker reader crave. It’s not full of hands and flowers but there is a sweet romance that comes with it.

I liked the narration, but when I listen to books I like for the voices to make it easy to differentiate between characters more. You could tell the voice actors tried to make the changes when it was a different character speaking but they were too close to the main characters. Other then that, I loved how well they executed Birdie and Loki’s voices.

I can’t wait to listen to the other books in this series.

Oh How I Love English!

I really loved the story. English is an amazing little girl and really brings a great aspect to the story. I thought it was overall a good narration but I didn’t like when the mans voice did the females dialogue. It didn’t feel right to me. But it was overall a great listen.

I really forgot how hot Greg and Melissa are. Add in an intriguing plot with sorrow and happiness, I was hooked from the start. The narrators did an amazing job at getting across the feeling that this book invokes.

Drew Jagger is amazing

This was super cute. Not only did it have hot sex, humorous banter between the two main characters, a little bit of suspense wondering what’s going to happen next, but also had a beautiful story throughout. I really loved Drew and Emery together. They made a friendship and everything just fell into place. There were a few things that I felt weren’t totally resolved that happened in the book but it was still a cute read. I listen to the audio and I think the narrators did a really good job with getting these characters personalities across. 4 Stars #2OCCJD

Great listen!

First off the story was amazing. It was well written and I felt the author embodies everything she was going for. Characters were easy to relate to, and I was drawn into everything that was going on throughout the whole story.

I really felt the narrators did a really good job. When they swapped it was pretty flawless, and they helped bring the story alive in my mind. I look forward to going back and reading/listening to the other books in the series.

Great story

I love a good syfi book and I enjoyed this one. It’s a different take on merman/aliens. I felt that the author did a good job at making a different a great job with the creature aspect. It was different and fun. The dialogue between the characters were great and I really liked Abby. She wasn’t scared of the things she learns and took things in stride. I really did love the plot and the characters. The Soul Mate type aspect is my favorite so the way the author did it, I was hooked.

The audio is what I listened to and I felt the narrator did a great job. I
Didn’t feel like he did well with Abby’s voice when she was talking. His voice was too husky in my option to do a good woman’s voice, but I still really enjoyed it and would listen to more from him.

I look forward to reading/listening to the other books in this series. And seeing where the author takes it. 4 Stars #2OCCJD

I really loved this storyX not only was it steamy but the whole married in Vegas and then an awesome adventure that ensured kept me hooked on the story.

I love the voice. She did an awesome job with the different accents.

Where does Checkmate: This Is War rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very high. Not only was it an amazing book story but the voice was perfect.

What did you like best about this story?

The forbidden type plot line.

Have you listened to any of Lia Langola’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

It was done just as well as the other books that I've listened to from her.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved it all as a whole. I don't think I could really pick out one scene.

Love the Alpha Unit

I really enjoyed the story! It was captivating and kept me hooked from the first words.

While I liked the narrators voice, I feel that she didn't do the heroine voice justice. At times it seemed to manly. But I do look forward to hearing more on the future from this series!
