Historia
This nonfiction legal thriller traces the 14-year struggle of two lawyers to bring the most powerful coal baron in American history to justice. Don Blankenship, head of Massey Energy since the early 1990s, ran an industry that provides nearly half of America’s electric power. But wealth and influence weren’t enough for Blankenship and his company, as they set about destroying corporate and personal rivals, challenging the Constitution, purchasing the West Virginia judiciary, and willfully disregarding safety standards in the company’s mines - mines in which scores died unnecessarily.

WTH! illuminating, gripping and maddening- I loved it.

Everything you want in a book, and left out of our legal system.
This book should be a riveting fictional portrayal of a history overcome. Instead it’s a recent chronicle on unchecked power. Any US citizen will cringe at the unethical reality presented in this book.

A nostalgic science fiction tour de force
Revisado: 07-24-16
I can only imagine Wil Wheaton enjoyed every second of narrating this loners journey. Once I hit play I couldn't stop listening until I had devoured the entire story line. It simultaneously pushed me into the future and rocketed me to Saturday and Sunday mornings of my childhood. As a geek I felt like the protagonist had good taste in cheesy movies, television shows, video games and music... Yet I'm sure I would have enjoyed arguing with him about certain selections. All this while immersed in futuristic poverty. Way to go Ernest Cline, way to go. How do you type a slow clap in a review? ;)

Revisado: 02-11-16
This book gives an overview of body language and how one can interpret body position and movement along with its limitations of use. I found the verbal description easy to picture in my mind, and the PDF was helpful when needed.
I believe I will have a better understanding of how I am effecting others based on reading their comfort level.
I am very happy I bought the book and recommend it.

Revisado: 08-13-15
This book rips it's violent setting from real headlines regarding real cartels giving this fictional story a background of grit rarely paralleled. The accents rung of realistic tones and the corruption pulls one into the deep character development. I applaud both Din Wilson as the writer and Ray Porter on his narration.

Revisado: 05-29-15
I had not read Asimov's work. This is the second of his book in as many weeks I have consumed. The way he takes snapshots of characters, and tells the evolution of a new intelligence is fascinating. I wish I would have had this book as a kid. However, Asminov is still stretching the thoughts of this new fan. Now, about that Foundation. ..

Slow start, with a strong building story
Revisado: 10-26-12
Would you listen to The Power of One again? Why?
Yes, it is a positive and enlightening story that should be the basis for a modern thinker raising the next generation. Heroic in scale, yet the only superpower is mindful determination.
What did you like best about this story?
The wonder as you see the mystique of a mind being built, and the effect of a single mind's effect on the world.
Have you listened to any of Humphrey Bower’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to other books of his, but I will now.
If you could take any character from The Power of One out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Doc is the inspirational figure in this tale for me. I could see other characters that I would love to listen to over dinner, but the man that taught Peekay to think... that is a man that offers true power and wisdom.
Any additional comments?
This is not written as a first book. This is a novel many try to achieve writing once in their life. It is an aw inspiring heroic tale of an ordinary boy that should have never been on anyone's radar, but became larger than life as life hits him and he trudges forward.

Majority of Info NOT information from Einstein
Revisado: 07-10-12
What disappointed you about What Einstein Told His Barber?
I bought this book too quickly, and the title mislead me.
Has What Einstein Told His Barber turned you off from other books in this genre?
Many of the concepts in this book are not as thought provoking as I would have thought.
What about Stephen Hoye’s performance did you like?
I think he did a fine job, and the narration was done well.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I fell asleep a few times. I thought some of the information was informative, but I had higher hopes. I may have just been disappointed, because I like Einstein, and this was not his work or thoughts I was purchasing, rather a hodge-podge of general information.
Any additional comments?
If you know it is not Einstein, you may have a better reaction, and go in with less excitement. This may give you a better overall experience. I should have read up on the book a little more, but what a concept - listen in on conversations between Einstein and layman around him. Title of book fail, not a writing fail.
