By the end I thought I was actually listening to Oliver Stone and Putin. The voice actors are really outstanding.

This is a classic book that I have not read since high school. This is the only version available on Audible and the narrator is pretty good. The main problem with the audio is the dynamic range that is way to wide for an audio book. There are sections where the narrator is screaming into the microphone followed by a section where he whispers. It's really annoying and there is no way to fix this issue other than adjusting the volume when this happens. Most of the book is okay but there are sections where the volume is a problem.

I'm half way through and the story is really interesting. Even with the audio issues, I think this book is worth reading.

Although this is a difficult read, you should read it because it is an accurate description of how people behave and react. The challenge is getting past the strange names, and places. Once you get past that, you can absorb the brillance of Machiavelli.

What made the experience of listening to Purple Cow the most enjoyable?

Seth does a great job of explaining how marketing used to work and why you now need to change the way it is done. He gives example after example of how companies fail and succeed. In a world where many jobs are commoditized, being a Purple Cow is almost a necessity. The book has excellent coherence and made complete sense to me.The last third of the book was a little weaker than the first two thirds but overall an excellent book.

What other book might you compare Purple Cow to and why?

Eat that Frog is another book you should read if you like this one.
