Historia
When her estranged mother dies, Stella is left with an unusual inheritance: a one-way plane ticket and a note reading “Go to Paris.” Stella is hardly cut out for adventure; a traumatic childhood has kept her confined to the strict routines of her comfort zone. What stood out most was the poor story.
Revisado: 06-28-24
Promising setup but abysmal story. very weak plot and paper-thin characters. Very disappointing. Good food descriptions, which isn’t surprising but that doesn’t make a novel.

Francesca Kay is an exquisite writer, her descriptions are stunning and her characterizations deeply complex. A wonderful book.

Historia
It’s 1996, and Reacher is still in the army. In the morning they give him a medal, and in the afternoon they send him back to school. That night he’s off the grid. Out of sight, out of mind. Two other men are in the classroom—an FBI agent and a CIA analyst. Each is a first-rate operator, each is fresh off a big win, and each is wondering what the hell they are doing there. Then they find out: A Jihadist sleeper cell in Hamburg, Germany, has received an unexpected visitor—a Saudi courier, seeking safe haven while waiting to rendezvous with persons unknown.

Dick Hill is Way Too Old to Play Jack Reacher
Revisado: 11-19-16
Why (oh why) did they choose Duck Hill to play Jack? With is quavery voice and very odd fiction, he sounds 75. and I think he is. Jack is 35 and essentially a superhero, Dick Hill made the book unendurable, why choose a 75-year old actor to play a character who's 35. Maybe the story and pacing deserve better than one star but with this reading I couldn't tell. Really ruined the book. I'll return it. And I never return Audiblebooks.

Abysmal Narration
Revisado: 06-06-10
Why is Dick Hill working? This was not bad, it was very, very bad. Terrible rhythm, peculiar accent (was he attempting to sound Swedish?) no facility with voices and a strange halting delivery. I saw he also did another Mankell book, I instantly made the decision to give up Mankell, couldn't possibly endure another Dick Hill. Please re-record this book.
