Kind of a slog

I had high hopes for this, but was quite disappointed. The performance was good but the story was seriously lacking. A boring, basic rehashing of the usual romantasy tropes. I kept waiting for it to get better but it just never did. Waste of a credit, sadly.

This is one of the most poorly written books I have ever read. True trash, and not in a fun way. I don’t recommend wasting a credit on this unless you’ve read every single other book in this genre and you are desperate. Even then…don’t bother.

Very strong debut

I really enjoyed this debut fantasy romance. Truly excellent narration, as well. It has good spice. It’s definitely a slow burn. It could have used some editing, but overall it’s a 4.5 for me.
