Historia
In the far reaches of Imperial space, a ferocious warp storm approaches an Administratum world, cutting off the entire planet from the rest of the Imperium. As their towering grey spires are punished by endless rain, countless administrators, tithe-masters, and book-keepers are forced to evacuate. Among them is Greta, a lowly data-drone with a terrible secret, wanted for questioning by the sadistic Imperial interrogator Stefan Crucius. As disaster strikes and the pair are left stranded in the depths of the drowning city, captor and captive must cooperate.

I wish I could hear it for the first time, again

I truly hope the narrators see this, as they are the first I want to point out. Absolutely incredible job from all of the performers! This was a first for me in terms of both Warhammer in audio format and in terms of it being a short story. They did an amazing job from start to finish, and I hope to see their names again in other works.
The story? Excellent. It had me gripped from the onset, with the starkly contrasting characters and the dreary setting, not to mention the impending disaster taking center stage. All culminating in more than one twist I did not see coming. I couldn't have asked for more, except perhaps for a longer book!
Lastly, the sound production added in could not have been a better companion to the story. It truly was a delight. Rarely have I been pulled into the world of a book so completely, and I am convinced those extra touches were part of the reason why.
Admittedly I am already a big fan of the Warhammer 40K setting, so for me a tale like this is an easy recommendation. I will say however, that this is one of those stories I could easily recommend to someone that has not had any prior exposure to the setting of any kind and I still think they would enjoy it. Better yet, it may pique their interest and want to learn more of it!
Absolute 5/5, again amazing job to everyone involved.
