Historia
Iris and Gabriel have just arrived home from a make-or-break holiday. But a shock awaits them. One of their closest friends, Laure, is in their house. The atmosphere quickly becomes tense as she oversteps again and again: sleeping in their bed, wearing Iris' clothes, even rearranging the furniture. Laure has walked out on her husband—and their good friend—Pierre, over his confession of an affair and a secret child. Iris and Gabriel want to be supportive of their friends, but as Laure's mood becomes increasingly unpredictable, her presence takes its toll.

Slow but good
Revisado: 12-15-24
It was definitely slow with a lot of conversation and bits of action/something happening sprinkled throughout. Good ending!

Sad that it will be the last
Revisado: 09-02-24
I liked this one better than a few of her more recent books. I would have liked to see more of a wrap up to her fostering career. She said this would be her last book but it just kind of ended.

When the rules turn deadly, winning is everything. Only available from Audible, a gripping psychological thriller from the author of Silent Child, Saving April, and The Broken Ones. Perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn, Lisa Jewell and Paula Hawkins. The perfect couple. The perfect marriage. The perfect game. Effie and Ben May have everything. Success. Beauty. Glamour. But beneath the charming smiles and expensive clothes, a twisted game is in progress. A game for which only they know the rules.

Gripping
Revisado: 02-26-24
Liked the story a lot. There were definitely twists and I wanted to know what would happen next. I hated one part of the ending though so that kind of ruined it.

Historia
She’s got a great job at a VA Hospital, an adorable daughter, and a loving husband. Granted, it would be wonderful if her preschooler wouldn’t wake her up at three in the morning, and it would be a miracle if her husband would change the toilet paper roll once every millennium. Still, in most ways, she has the ideal life she’d always imagined. Then Jane discovers that Dr. Ryan Reilly is the VA’s newest vascular surgeon. Dr. Ryan Reilly, a.k.a. sexy surgeon, a.k.a. the biggest jerk she ever loved.

Wow!!!
Revisado: 02-18-23
I have been reading / listening to Maggie Hartley for years. Louisa is mentioned in all but 1 of her books (need to know why!) so I was actually not really looking forward to this book as I figured “we know about Louisa already”. Boy was I wrong! I had NO IDEA what had happened to Louisa. Cried happy tears at the end. As usual Maggie tells a great story and Penelope MacDonald IS the perfect voice of Maggie.

Another great listen by Cathy Glass
Revisado: 01-20-23
While I wouldn’t start with this one- it’s best to read her books in order. You will fall in love with Cathy and her family as do all her readers this way. This was a great story and I was so happy for Lara to have found Cathy. My only issue with this is so much of the pandemic. I think it is just too recent and I am not ready to go back to those days but obviously it was a large part of life in 2020-early 2021 so must be included. Thank you Cathy for all you do and cannot wait till the next one! As always Danica is perfect for the audio.

Is it very similar to Room? Yes. But I like this better. I loved the characters so much more. The audio was perfect. I just could not stop listening. Very very sad and difficult subject matter in parts. This one will stay with me for a long time.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.
