I feel true pity for anyone who gave this story 5 Stars, that would infer this book was a highlight of entertainment for them.......wow, just just sad.

The premise of the story/world are good, however, the MC is a grade A pus, and probably borderline disabled on the intellectual spectrum. I am about 4-5hrs in and I cant do it anymore. The MC is just dumb, and annoying, it is a very hard story to get through.

Anyone who gave this STORY 5 Stars needs a mental health check. you are not ok.

Review after the VA Bait and Switch

So this series has just been re-released with new VA's, great VA for sure but, the fanbase has already had 6 books with the previous VA. While some voices are better overall such as Desmonda, many amazing voices that brought levity to the story now bring no humor. Example would be the character Grandpa went from a high energy women crazed pervert to ArchMagu Finius from Dragons Justice, and Harley went from a super bubbly and extremely funny character to, Kelly from Dragons Justice....doesnt do the character justice at all. Charloitte is written as a shy, somewhat lacking confidence, with a "sleepy" voice, but Threet's versions is Jaden from Dragons Justice, so this completely changes the character.

Overall the performance is good but subpar compared to the originals, but what can you do with mob rule patrion polls.

Story is good, and fun, maybe not as fun with the new VA but still fun. But with the Bait and Switch, this is a 2.5 Star Book if you have listened to the originals. probably a 3.5 to 4 stars if you havent.

eh not Shane's best work

The story is blah, doesnt flow like the authors other works, and the dialog is extremely cringe at times. Its almost like this was Shane's first attempt at a novel, that never got made, the after his other series did so well, the publisher was like we have THIS! And the book was released. As for narration Jessica Threet was top notch (5 stars), Boise not so much(1 star), actually he is really bad. He is the reason I didnt finish another series; I am just so used to really good narrators that these new ones just finding their footing can ruin a book for me. Sorry Shane, wont be getting the next one in this series but, cant wait for more of your Demon Academy audiobooks!

Cant finish this book ...... boring

I am about a third of the way into this book and I cant take it anymore its so boring, nothing is being done, its just training without any substance. Also i have no idea what his class is, its some weird double druid crap-ola, he got some spheres and without thought used them. First book was fun, this book is trash. I am sorry Travis Baldree had to narrate this garbage, at least he got paid.

not as good as previous books.

the first part of this book is from Jackson's perspective and it is boring. don't know why it was added. on top of that this is the shortest of the 4 books out so far and a third was wated on Jackson, I feel a little cheated out of my credit. apart from the Jackson perspective the book was fun and moved at a fast pace.

Boring, no idea whats going on

I have made it to about chapter 5 or chapter 6, so far this has been rough, the narration isnt very good, and the story isnt grabbing my attention. Maybe its because i am so used to duel narration these days that single voice actors just wont work for me, totally possible.

The story so far is blah, couldnt tell you anything about the MC or the world, very little character building or world building. What I do know about the MC is he is a grade A puss, he gets this Gem that opens a portal and he is all excited then he gets there and is nearly pissing in his pants wanting to go home.

I might return to this at a later date and give it another shot, but as of now, this one goes into the wasted Credit pile.

Pretty Good.

Another good story from Bruce but I am not a fan of the whole marriage thing with the mage. This is going to be another Dragons Justice where you have great characters with chemistry, and the "first" girl gets pushed out by the new girls, and you almost forget about them (poor scarlet). Already, we are seeing it in this book, with the addition of the mage who gets a marriage contract before Zuri and the other anchors. worried this is going to turn out like Dragons Justice where the Harem was so large you had no idea who half of them are....we are headed down that path with this book.

Good thing this was on sale

The story, world build, and characters are all incredibly weak/boring. I honestly dont know why Travis narrated this book, I only picked this up because he brings stories to life, but even he couldnt breath life into this story. In a way the story is a watered down version of the World Tree, another bad book but for other reasons. Game Mods lose their minds and go all a I AM THE LAW on people, user/player discovers a glitch, he starts at level X, next chapter he is lvl XX and you dont know how or what he did.

Do not spend a credit on this and do not purchase this at file price, if you want to give it a listen, buy it on sale.

So far this story is shaping up to be a good one. Overall in my opinion it had a good flow and the story was easy to follow and enjoyable. Benny and Jannet cam be annoying at times but you get over it fast. looking forward to the next release. NOTE: there are some minor errors in dialog, wrong voices for characters (male narrator) which are easily over looked, and 1 scene early in the book where Jessica read a male characters part, was like 2 lines of dialog.

Really enjoying this series, the book had a good pace, along with a lot of character development and interaction. The last few minutes of the book with The Harem Queen and Grandpa cracked me.
