I've listened to "The Duchess Deal" at least a dozen times and that's no exaggeration! I know the book almost word for word and still want to listen just one more time. It's heart breaking, heart warming, and laugh out loud hilarious. Mary Jane Wells brings all the characters to life and gives each one a colorful personality with her talent for voice and Tessa Dare's flare with words. I have also listened to the other two "Duchess" volumes and they are wonderful as well, but "The Duchess Deal" is my favorite. Please, please, please allow Ms. Wells to narrate all the future books.

Would you try another book from Marty Ross and/or the narrators?

Not sure...I was left a bit bereft after experiencing this version of Jodi Taylor's classic St. Mary's adventure. It felt like something important was missing and I couldn't put my finger on it at first, but then noticed some of my favorite characters were missing.

What could Marty Ross have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It was perhaps a bit too much huffing and puffing throughout, like the characters were out of breath. It became distracting.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I always, always love Ms Zara Ramm's narration. She brings everyone to life for me. The other narrators fell a bit flat, but that's probably because I'm used to Zara Ramm doing all the voices. If I had never listened to the original St. Mary books, I might have enjoyed it more.

Do you think Just One Damned Thing After Another needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Not for me...I much prefer listening to the original St Mary books by Zara Ramm.

Any additional comments?

I'm glad I made this purchase, it was different from the original in that it was a drama and I like to try new things. I was just a bit disappointed that it was so very different from the book.

Would you consider the audio edition of Consequences to be better than the print version?

NO. The Consequences Series is one of the best I've read in ages. A true roller coaster ride that doesn't slow down one bit. The narration was so annoying I almost quit listening.
The high pitched inflection at moments was distracting and didn't fit with the storyline and conversation within the text. I was very disappointed to say the least. I've been looking forward to the audible series since I found out it would be offered.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Claire is my favorite character because of her strength and ability to survive extreme life events. She's like the Energizer Bunny...takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I'm also very fond of Phil because he's a true friend to Claire and protects her even from the beginning when he was working for Tony.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Romy Nordlinger?

Davina Porter (my favorite narrator)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The end of this book (Consequences) broke my heart for Claire and gave me strong negative feelings (hate) for Tony. This book stays with you for days after you finish it...wondering how things will work out for Claire and Tony. The second book in the series is a definite must have, right after the last word in the first book.

Any additional comments?

I've read the series twice and even though I didn't care for the narrator I will purchase the next two books. Hopefully if the 4th book is offered by Audible there will be a different narrator...maybe a man would be better since it's supposed to be Anthony's viewpoint.

Where does The Phantom of the Opera rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favorites, I'll listen to it again.

What did you like best about this story?

I've seen the movie and stage production of POTO, but have not read the book. The original book version gives more insight to the relationship between Erik, Christine and Raoul.

What does Ralph Cosham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator kept my attention. I liked his voice. Sometimes while listening to audiobooks my mind tends to wander if the story gets boring, but not so with POTO and Mr. Cosham's narration.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could listen to it in one sitting, but instead I listen to books during my commute to and from work (45 min. one way) It helps pass the time and takes me places new and exciting instead of the same old drive everyday.
