Manipulate or Include?

The big question that stood out to me when listening to this book is, do you want to manipulate (trick) "gate-keepers" in order to circumvent them (to get to the boss) or do you want to include them in the process and gain their intel of the boss's current situation?
The better books I've read talk about winning over each person - asking questions - en route to the decision-maker. Seasoned "gate-keepers" don't like being coerced or bypassed. And there are only so many tricks... Even if you do win the sale, how much support will you get from him/her after the fact?

There is a good amount of basic stuff with some technical stuff mixed in. If you want to practice what he talks about in this book, it is best to be taking notes. I listened to the audio. this is the kind of book that's better to read, highlight and write with.
