Historia
At a party for a controversial Los Angeles sex therapist, Alex encounters a face from his own past: Sharon Ransom, an exquisite, alluring lover who left him abruptly more than a decade earlier. Sharon now hints that she desperately needs help, but Alex evades her. The next day she is dead, an apparent suicide. Driven by guilt and sadness, Alex plunges into the maze of Sharon's life - a journey that will take him through the pleasure palaces of California's ultra-rich, into the dark closets of a family's disturbing past.

Disappointing..not worth the credit.
Revisado: 02-18-24
Way too convoluted and choppy. Robin is whiney. Not enough Milo. Not worth the credit.

Historia
Los Angeles is a city of stark contrast, the palaces of the affluent coexisting uneasily with the hellholes of the mad and the needy. That shadow world and the violence it breeds draw brilliant psychologist Dr. Alex Delaware and Detective Milo Sturgis into an unsettling case of altruism gone wrong.

I really loved how the author weaves real history and locations into this story. I had not read or listened any Steve Barry books and am thrilled to find his work!

Historia
Michael and Megan Fitzgerald are siblings who share a terrifying past. Both adopted, and now grown — Michael is a long-haul truck driver, Megan a college student majoring in psychology — they trust each other before anyone else. They've had to. Their parents are public intellectuals, an Ivy League clinical psychologist and a renowned psychiatrist, and they brought up their adopted children in a rarefied, experimental environment. It sheltered them from the world's harsh realities, but it also forced secrets upon them, secrets they keep at all costs.

Really bad and long. Don’t waste your money on this. Convoluted storyline with a worse nonsensical ending the Seinfeld.
I was really surprised Mr. Patterson was a coauthor.

Madness of the Crowds
Revisado: 08-31-21
I was a bit disappointed as one who only reads fiction to escape there ware just too many covid references. I do understand one writes what one is experiencing, however it bothered me.
I was also confuses by the appearance of the Sudanese woman peace prize nominee. I was not sure what value was added to the story.
I always love Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache, and I did enjoy this one. ‘The Madness of The Crowds,” just wasn’t my favorite. I have seen covid creep in a lot of other books..I guess it is only normal..or a new normal.

The Guilty
Revisado: 11-08-20
This was a more personal story focused around Will. Reel does not appear until one is well into the book, which leaves the book lacking. This was the worst book in the Robie and Reel stories.
The cheesy queue music, screams, and gun shots were horrible and almost made listening to the end unbearable. The Robie/Reel performers are always good,
Unless one can purchase this on sale, I would not bother.

Historia
A legend among Vermont cops, Joe Gunther has solved more local whodunits than a whole squad of detectives. But his latest case takes him and his team off their Brattleboro home turf, 42 miles west, to chip-on-its-shoulder, blue-collar Bennington. On the edge of town, Gunther encounters the lifeless body of Michelle Fisher. Her corpse, pale and seemingly at peace, offers him no clues about who she was or how she died. There are no signs of violence, no disorder. Snapshots and postcards show a woman who laughed hard and lived harder.
