Only for 'Marginalized' Readers
Revisado: 02-09-25
While the information presented is excellent for all people, the author proclaims her audience as 'marginalized' people. As a white male, the most despised class of the social elite, apparently I am unqualified to benefit from the author's wisdom.
While the information presented is not new, the author writes and narrates excellently well and engages the reader/listener with her material--when not marginalizing them.

Historia
Fox contributor Ari Fleischer says most Americans live in a media-created fantasyland. Never before have we been so information-rich yet so poorly informed. America’s liberal media keeps getting the news wrong. In Suppression, Deception, Snobbery, and Bias, Fleischer notes that half the country is keenly aware that they are routinely mocked and looked down on by much of the media. The disdain shown by too many reporters for too many Americans is a major reason our nation is polarized and divided.

Required reading for journalism majors!
Revisado: 08-07-22
Concise and well written, this book details the current failure of the media to present information objectivly--often times outright lying or ignoring the truth.

Historia
In the highly anticipated finale to the New York Times best-selling trilogy, dictators, prophets, and tensions rise. In a world that’s conquered death, will humanity finally be torn asunder by the immortal beings it created? Citra and Rowan have disappeared. Endura is gone. It seems like nothing stands between Scythe Goddard and absolute dominion over the world scythedom. With the silence of the Thunderhead and the reverberations of the Great Resonance still shaking the earth to its core, the question remains: Is there anyone left who can stop him?

Logical Conclusion, Unsatisfying End
Revisado: 05-28-20
I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, but I believe my overall dissatisfaction comes from the young protagonists having less and less interaction as the series progresses. After being kept apart in Thunderhead, The Toll, doubles down on this. Worse still, one of the two is completely irrelevant in this book--a most unsatisfying use of character.

Flawless Tale and Production
Revisado: 04-22-20
I generally dislike full cast audiobooks, but Battlefield Earth is the blueprint of how to do it right!
The tale of Earth's redemption by Johnny Goodboy Tyler could classify as a modern Young Adult novel--before the genre was dumbed down. The story is well written and engaging, with classic mind stretching concepts typical of the great science fiction masters.
But the audio narration is flawless as well, boosted by the well chosen cast. This makes the entire production engaging and infinitely rereadable. Battlefield Earth will now be one of my yearly reads!

Historical mixed with social hand-wringing, then added one likeable celebrity to draw an audience. The chef 'modernizes' Twain's food, for 'guests' who skip a majority of the courses. Who invites a vegan to a predominantly all-meat meal?

Historia
Landon has never seen his own reflection. He saw hers instead. He grew up watching this girl in the mirror grow with him. Grew up memorizing every feature, every movement, every horror she endured. He can see into her palace, into the darkness she's trapped in. When he was little, he told his parents about her. They thought she was an imaginary friend, and they humored him. But she didn't go away.

I absolutely loved Princess of the Damned! Engaging characters and an action packed plot. My only real complaint is that it was too short! I could have listened for hours more. That means I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series.
The audio narrator was spot on too. A great listen!
