What a treat! Exceptional entertainment!
Revisado: 11-08-18
This was just great. I found myself totally engrossed in the story and at the same time felt like I was sitting in the theater watching these incredible actors perform. You get drawn in quickly. I do not want to give away story details in my reviews as it should be a surprise but I will say good messages and a good ending. Do not pass this one up.

This book has it all!
Revisado: 10-25-18
It's not often I find a book that covers all the attributes I enjoy in a book. For me this book offered history, scenery, a compelling story and interesting characters along with a great narrator. It really drew me in. One additional item I appreciated is at the end of the book, the author gives you an update on the character's lives after the war. Great to know Pino is still around.

Historia
On an island lives a boy called Peter and his band of merry lost boys, young forever. That is unless they get sick or killed by pirates or eaten by crocodiles or unless - inexplicably - they grow old. For some of them do grow old, and nobody knows why. One of these boys is called Jamie, and he was the first boy that Peter ever brought to the island. Jamie's lived there for longer than he can remember, and it's not all fun and games.

It has been decades since I read Lord of the Flies. I did not like that book and for many of the same reasons, I did not like this book. I will say it is very well written with good development of the characters and story. The narrator does a great job. It is definitely a twist on the original Peter Pan but for me a bunch of brutal young boys on an island killing each other was not very entertaining. I think I'll go back and reread the original Peter Pan.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

An investment in time but a good entertaining book
Revisado: 09-23-18
I am used to mostly action books so switching to this was definitely a change. At times I found my mind wandering and had to replay a section here and there to get back in the story. I was about to give up and request a refund but went back and saw the 57,000 mostly positive reviews. As some of the other reviews state it does start off slow but the story develops and becomes very entertaining. It is a twenty-nine hour book which was also a change. I am moving on to something different for a bit but will be coming back for book two. I did notice book two is forty something hours long but you’re getting a lot of book for one credit.

A little heavy on the violence details.
Revisado: 08-18-18
I jumped right in to this book after reading the first book. I enjoyed the story and the plots. The author does a great job building the characters and the narrator is superb. I understand this takes place during a very violent period even if fiction. The segment where Falcio goes through a nine day torture seemed to go on forever, maybe even a full chapter. I was exhausted.
I read for entertainment and while book one and two were both very entertaining the section where he relives his wife's brutal rape and murder in detail was not very entertaining for me. I understand this is part of Falcio's history and makeup but a little too much for me. At this point I have not decided if I will go on to book three. Maybe I just need a rest.

Historia
Bronx-born top turret-gunner Arthur Meyerowitz was on his second mission when he was shot down in 1943. He was one of only two men on the B-24 Liberator known as Harmful Lil Armful who escaped death or immediate capture on the ground. After fleeing the wreck, Arthur knocked on the door of an isolated farmhouse, whose owners hastily took him in. Fortunately, his hosts not only despised the Nazis but had a tight connection to the French resistance group Morhange and its founder, Marcel Taillandier.

As with one of the other reviews, I found the execution of the read a little dry. That being said, what a great piece of history and a truly inspiring story. The determination of Art Meyerowtiz and the French people is so uplifting. Thank you Seth Meyerowitz for sharing this incredible story of history and your family.

I really enjoyed book 1 in the series and went straight to book 3 based on the ratings. The characters, the plots and the action is nonstop. This is one of those books you can’t stop listening to and don’t want to end. As usual Scott Brick brings the characters and the story to life.

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

Inspiring and educational with a story. Eye opening.
Revisado: 11-03-17
I enjoyed many aspects of this book. The story of this individual becoming a minimalist and the Japanese life style he leads are entertaining and informative.
I would recommend this book to everyone. It applies to those who have accumulated too many things and those on that path without knowing it. He tells a good story of the freedom one achieves by limiting their possessions and creating space. Many tips along the way and truly makes you aware of the excess one has and the burden it carries.
I gave this book the rating I did because even though it was not a long book I did find some of the information repetitive along the way.

This narrator does such a great job with the Irish tones and characters you are there. Set in a small Irish village the murder mystery developes impacting the O’Sullivan family. Audible has some great narrators and Caroline Lennon is up there with the top of the pack. You will enjoy this book.
