Historia
Alex Armstrong has changed everything about herself—her name, her appearance, her backstory. She’s no longer the terrified teenager a rapt audience saw on television, emerging in handcuffs from the quiet suburban home the night her family was massacred. That girl, Alexandra Quinlan, nicknamed Empty Eyes, was accused of the killings, fought to clear her name, and later took the stand during her highly publicized defamation lawsuit that captured the attention of the nation. It’s been ten years since, and Alex hasn’t stopped searching for answers about the night her family was killed.

wonderful - as expected
Revisado: 09-10-23
I was super excited when this came out. Karin Slaughter is my fave author! I was also excited the same narrator was used. I couldn't have listened to anyone the characters through a different voice. I'm so happy to hear that Will and Sarah were able to get a happy ending. The twists really did shock me, and the storyline puts current issues women are facing in the face of listeners. Thank you for another great story, Ms. Slaughter!

I was hesitant to get the book. Morbid is my favorite podcast (it should be yours, as well) and I was afraid if I hated the book, I'd feel weird about listening to the podcast. Weird logic, I know. I was sucked in at the dedication, but even more within the first few sentences. This book was amazing and left me yelling at my car speakers when it ended. I wanted more immediately. The sneak peek for the next book helped... until it didn't because that ended. I cannot wait for the next book. I'm officially a fan for life. The characters were lovable and hateable, depending on who they were. Jeremy was obviously the one to hate, but he was still an amazing character. I doubt anyone would regret this purchase.

Main character is maddening

I really did like this story, but the main character is a complete twat. How clueless can a person be? And the way she is with Freddy? Get over yourself. I was low-key hoping Adam would kill her.
