Slow, Slow, Very Slow Burn...Well at least for MB

What did you love best about Safe at Last?
OMG, I was at least surprised by this book. It was NOT a cookie cutter Maya Banks book. Seriously, every one should take this review seriously because this is the FIRST time I have actually taken the time to write a review. AND it was only after finishing the book, laughing for a good 30 minutes and then going to check the other reviews that I am taking my time to do this instead of moving on to the next in the series (Ya'll saying you wanted to return the book, it was that bad, hit my fairness bone). I have listened to over 600 audio books, have about 650 in my library and have way over 10,000 ebooks on one device alone and am blunt so I usually don't write reviews because usually I want to blast other reviewers instead, but I am going to try to be good so this review gets posted and my time will not have been wasted, yeah?
What did you like best about this story?
Other than its not a normal meet and within hours or days fall in love have sex, some drama or trauma (more than likely both) for the couple to over come, more sex, a heroic rescue, fireworks sex, and then everything wrapped in a tidy bow? Yeah, it was real. A lot of people said the female was whiney and the guy was whatever, but think about it. She had and alcoholic mother and abusive uncle and then at 16 she was homeless. One person, one, helped her, was her whole world. He was the only person she trusted and due to her gift it wasn't a matter of her believing her gang raper's words that shattered her world. So they finally meet. How many times in your life have you said something that didn't come out right, was taken out of context, or by the tone of your voice was taken the wrong way, then add in people who don't know the full story, actually no one knew the full correct story until almost the end. The heroine of the story wasn't whiney she was damaged and traumatized but when she had started to heal, had time and space to think things through did she become strong and protective.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when Gracie went to Wade to get help to get the girls together to save Eliza...#Valkyries. She had thought through what it would take and what it would take was girl power. But even it had twists and turns I hadn't seen coming...
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, it actually was. I had listened to a few KGI favorites to lead in to a few new ones I have sitting but have me waffling on when I want to read, UGH (D@mn Hancock! LOL). So I was looking at other MB novels and I saw I had these sitting around. MB is an auto buy for me so I don't always get to them right away I read the descriptions and started I think book 2 the night before last and did that one in one sitting ,which I believed to be book 1. Then I listened to book 1 and did that one in one sitting. Unfortunately, I just couldn't go for a trifecta. But as soon as I finish this review I'm on to book 4. Eliza and Wade's story and if it's going to be as action packed, a little scary, and humorous as I anticipate it's going to be I'll have a hard time putting it down.
Any additional comments?
After listening to so many audio books I've had the best of narrators and believe me the worst. I've read reviews that have astounded me and made me so angry I've had to put down all electronic equipment so I wouldn't have to replace them.
The very first audio book I listened to had an OM-amazinG narrator. The second, the worst; so bad I went and bought the ebook version to read, LOL. I eventually went back and listened to the audio version and it wasn't that bad, I have actually listened and bought more of that second narrator again.
I realized that my first experience was not the norm. As far as the reviewers go, they still astound me...blah blah blah this book has so much sex in it, it's a romance book, or almost erotica romance - what do you expect?
I will tell you this, my mother (very conservative and vocal about my choice of reading material) is often astounded, as are others, how I know so much about abuse victims, frog in the pot syndrome, etc. They are always, always shocked when I tell them reading. Authors always or almost always write from a place of knowledge or research.
Romance novels or Romance-erotica novels aren't just sex (even though over a period of 8, 14, or even 21 hrs it may seem like it is) they contain much more, so next time look for the more.

Irish brogue? Just something missing...
Revisado: 08-19-15
So, even though there was a disclaimer at the start of the book, I still think something was lost in the story without using the brogue that the author often referred to throughout the book.
But still, it was well read and I did like the book in print and audio form.

Historia
Nate Torrance has a job to do, and the biggest rugby boots in the world to fill. He can't afford to lose his focus, especially not to a brown-eyed Canadian who pushes all his buttons and looks much too good in a climbing harness. Allison Villiers may not know what she wants to do with her life, but she's clear about one thing. She's not impressed by the new captain of the All Blacks, however big a deal he is to the rest of New Zealand.

Got a twofer but...
Revisado: 08-04-15
Got two stories in one but I think the characters were dynamic enough for their own books. In addition, there wasn't a seamless quality between the changing of the guard. It made the story harder to follow with there being two stories as well. It worked, just not well. It was good but could have been much better. As always the narrator was awesome.

Historia
Everyone needs to be rescued sometimes. Everyone but Hannah Montgomery, that is. She just needs a vacation. Three weeks in New Zealand to sort out her life, figure out what she wants, seems just right. Oh, and to relax. She should definitely put that on the agenda. She certainly isn't looking for a fling with a professional rugby player, no matter how attractive he is. Hannah doesn't do casual. But maybe just this once.…

Great Story but awesome Narrator choice!

I loved the story and although I often own and read as well listen to the same story; I truly believe that a lot of my enjoyment would be lost in the print version. The narrator was just that good.

Historia
"Take care of your father Anna, it's all I ask," was her mother's dying wish. Anna tried her hardest, working double shifts and getting little rest, plus her dad is an abusive alcoholic. One night Anna is accosted in her home. Her father really did it this time, and two loan sharks are intent on collecting a debt. They threaten Anna's life, and want to prostitute her out to make back the money her father owes. Her father shows up drunk, and Anna realizes she has to save herself.

Better than the print version.
Revisado: 07-26-15
I love this author, she is an automatic buy for me, pre-release. I do get frustrated, at times with how often she will mix up a characters name. Max and Eric are with Stacy; Charlie, Ben, and Wyatt are with Anna no matter how many 'Town of Pearl' books are written. I didn't notice those same mistakes in the audio version. Since I've read this book probably more than 10 times, I think the mistakes were corrected. I'll know for sure in book 4.
I thought the narrator did a very good job. I've heard better but I've heard way worse. For the content and type of book she did a great job! I'd buy another book she narrated.
