Classic Amor Towles. His fans won’t be disappointed. Subtle, witty, poignant. There are tiny tips of the hat to Rules of Civility - and not just in the beautiful novella about Eve - that you might miss if you’re not paying attention; they are immensely satisfying.

The variety of themes in the short stories is delicious, and I enjoyed their subtle connections to the title of the collection. Edoardo Ballerini’s narration is superb, as it was for Towles’ The Lincoln Highway. I loved every moment listening to this book.

Part memoir, part cautionary tale, Katie's story will resonate with all single women who are navigating the world of dating. Her personal story of meeting "Mr. Right" will be familiar to most women who have been swept off their feet by a man who seems to be absolutely perfect. Every scene is described with fine details; I absolutely loved the elegant descriptions of meals prepared and enjoyed, and clothing lovingly selected for a day at the office or a date with this gorgeous new man in her life. Katie bares her soul and invites the reader along for the roller coaster ride. Well done!
