I liked the first two books, but this one took such a left turn from what that was, and what I was expecting from this series as a whole. I did not appreciate how it changed, and it did not feel like the same story anymore.

The voice actor was great, his laugh is loud, and he's one of the more expressive ones I've heard here.
There are points in the book where things get erotic or the characters act uncharacteristically for what I'm assuming is fan-service. It's a bit of a nit-pick, but it just feels kind of out of place. It also kind of starts out as a story where every girl "falls" for his abilities, and every guy hates him for it. It changes pretty quickly, and most of it is peripheral.

Good pacing. The narration is both comical and tearjerking. Curiosity keeps killing the cat. I look forward to the next one.

He needed to leave the dwarves way sooner.

Unless we treat Joe as a very unreliable narrator, as even though it is third person, the story is from his perspective, he is constantly mistreated and bullied. He should have left the dwarves behind based on their treatment long ago. I thought that he was just being manipulated by his Dwarven Superiority title, but even after he lost that, it is like he does not register what is actually said most of the time. They also seemingly gaslight him a bunch as well. They give specious explanations that Joe somehow accepts even though there was a whole paragraph explaining the scene completely differently a few minutes back. Unless Joe is seeing some alternate reality like Pyro from TF2, a lot of these things don't make sense.

I still enjoy the story, I am just heated because of some of the chapters relating to his interaction with the dwarves.

The story is very visceral and procedural. Specific movement is described. There is a lot of blow-by-blow combat(works surprisingly well for a book, likely aided by the "audio" aspect). MC is a 15 yo, so there is a decent amount of "immaturity"(humor). Some decisions are rash and can seem slightly out of place, but they are usually explained later(or explained by MC being a 15 yo reincarnated ant, it is a difficult situation to deal with; change is a funny thing).
