While it did take me a while to get into this read, it turned out to be a fairly decent one. It does contain many theories floating around out there that someone/something is pulling the strings in the world. It does a good job of getting you wrapped up in Hal's adventure through life and his way back home. This read can be a good reminder of just how curiosity can get you in over your head and just how much "digging" you may have to do to get out of situations that said curiosity put you in. It is a good read for those whole like Sci Fi and conspiracy theories. I would encourage some to give it a little time as with me it did take a while for it to hook me in.

Definitely hits close to fears many have about artificial general intelligence.

It was a short listen compared to many I have listened to lately but still did a good job on delivering on the main storyline. The overall fears and progression of the AGI follow what one would expect in many ways. This is a great read for those who may want a quick read that is to the point and does not just meander to fill the pages. Definitely does show how invasive technology can cause issues as we move forward as a civilization.

it was a great listen. The only issue I have with the series is it seems to be playing out too long. There is always a new (often more powerful) threat that emerges. For me at least, after the 3rd or 4th time having that happen it starts to become overplayed. Great series but sometimes things actually do need to come to an end.

Definitely a male fantasy style on this book.

It was a decent story line. With the way it started I believed it was going to be erotica. While it does have moments (though not vulgar) of sex/fantasy events, overall it is just a part and plays into the storyline. Well read but did not quite get me hooked like some books have, I do however believe that is the book itself and not the reading of it.

This book was an absolute page turner for me. I looked forward to the very next time I was able to listen. The characters and story was absolutely great. I can not wait to continue on with the other books in this series.

Many individual storylines.

For me this story was middle of the pack. The character development was good, the storyline was decent but at times it could take a min to get back into it as it took me a little to remember what particular race of beings it was coming from when it first switches to other perspectives. It just never got me fully hooked because of that. Enjoyable listen for me just did not have me clinging to it to see what happens next.

Great characters throughout the series.

Great storyline and very much enjoyed the character development in it. Although I understand the new threats arising, the ever increasing stakes feel forced until more understanding happens in book 6. Might not have been so noticeable if it where not emphasized as much and was just presented as a new threat. it might just be me on that though. I did have one issue with the reading of it and that I would guess was in editing it. There are times where at the end of some chapters it cuts off mid sentence and I am not aware how much is cut out as I do not have the book to compare it to. I do recommend the series if you enjoy science fiction as it was a very enjoyable listen.

This was a continuation of a great series so far. A new threat emerges and twists and turns are around every corner. The narrator does a great job on bringing life to the characters with different voices as he has done in the first two books. can't wait for the next one.

This book and characters played well off of the 1st in the series. The narrator does a good job again. still some issues in editing where some sentences may repeat. All in all a great series still.
