Historia
Rory Miller's Facing Violence: Preparing for the Unexpected includes seven elements that must be addressed to bring self-defense training to something approaching complete. These elements are: legal and ethical implications, violence dynamics, avoidance, counter-ambush, breaking the freeze, the fight itself, and the aftermath. Training that dismisses any of these areas leaves you vulnerable.

Best in the middle
Revisado: 05-09-24
Great book based on good experiences or at least life experiences.
No trashing other systems either just good straight talk stuff
Only complaint is many listeners may want to quit in the early death by acronym phase.
It’s horrible but thankfully in the middle it is pure gold. You will know more after listening, enjoy!

Ron Dunn was an international itinerate Bible teacher whose life still inspires many of today’s most influential pastors. In this new biography, fellow disciple Ron Owens passes along the spirit and passion of this man who, from his mother’s womb, was called to preach the Word of God. You will learn this calling had to be worked out in the context of some of the highest peaks and deepest valleys a person can experience, from great success in ministry to the tragic suicide of Dunn’s son and a 10-year battle with clinical depression that followed.

I probably have 6 or so of his books
This was truly a man of God
The book needed (to me) less of other’s testimony and more details of Ron’s sermons and teachings

Too much
Revisado: 07-21-23
Too much background before we got to the real storms
I just got tired with more and more and more background which while interesting was more of of the book than the actual dust storms

Very Long and tedious
Revisado: 04-19-23
The story is incredible, but wow was it a long journey.
Maybe it is 'seal fatigue' maybe it was my own 25 years in uniform, but this was just ponderously told.
Make it half as long and you would double the stars.

By January 1968, despite an influx of half a million American troops, the fighting in Vietnam seemed to be at a stalemate. Yet General William Westmoreland, commander of American forces, announced a new phase of the war in which "the end begins to come into view". The North Vietnamese had different ideas. In mid-1967, the leadership in Hanoi had started planning an offensive intended to win the war in a single stroke.
