Historia
Since the beginning of time, humankind has looked upon nature and seen the divine. In the writings of the great thinkers across religions, the natural world inspires everything from fear, to awe, to tranquil contemplation; God, or however one defined the sublime, was present in everything. Yet today, even as we admire a tree or take in a striking landscape, we rarely see nature as sacred.

As Insightful As Ever
Revisado: 10-28-22
Karen Armstrong always opens my mind to a wider way of being and appreciation for the world around me...not just the divinity of nature, but the people that make up your day to day living, and the mundane task we trudge through each day. Take a moment, wherever you may be and become aware the divine spirit that surrounds you.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

A THRILL RIDE TIL THE END
Revisado: 05-14-22
Another captivating tale of a lone astronaut; yet this time he not only has to save himself but his entire species. Weir's tongue in cheek humor mixed with science and adventure kept me entertained for hours. Couldn't wait to get in my car and listen to more.

Historia
Franklin Foer reveals the existential threat posed by big tech, and in his brilliant polemic gives us the toolkit to fight their pervasive influence. Over the past few decades there has been a revolution in terms of who controls knowledge and information. This rapid change has imperiled the way we think. Without pausing to consider the cost, the world has rushed to embrace the products and services of four titanic corporations. We shop with Amazon, socialize on Facebook, turn to Apple for entertainment, and rely on Google for information.

Wonderfully Contemplative w/ Excellent Narration

A very interesting foray into the history and ethos of the Silicon Valley set and their effect of journalism. A reminder to stay vigilant against the forces of manipulation in our everyday lives. Highly recommended.
