Second Time Around

I read The Gold Dragon Caper a while back. I was curious to listen to the audible version. I thought I would browse some of the chapters and maybe even skip some.... to my surprise, I didn’t skip one page never mind a chapter. The narrater was excellent and kept my attention throughout the entire book. The story? I loved it the first time, and even more the second time around! I look forward to reading/listening to more of The Dickens Detective Agency!

Lots of twists and turns in this story! Love Joe Dillard. Loved who the innocent client turned out to be!

Loved the Narrator

Barnett’s Dunn’s did an awesome job with the characters. I was always quite aware of who was speaking and how they were feeling! Definitely a 5 Star performance.

The main character was well developed as were the supporting characters, however I prefer a main character who isn’t as mean spirited as Elenor was.

I think that the arrival of and the role Mrs. Montague played was ridiculous and could have been left out. I don’t feel as though she added anything to the story. And Arthur??? Not needed.

The ending was a surprise although when I thought about the story as a whole, it probably couldn’t have ended any other way.

It wasn’t real scary and I prefer it thAt way. If you are a reader wanting to learn a little bit more about Gothic writing, this is a good book.

A Bunch if Carrots to Change your life!

I loved this story right out of the gate! The fact that it was an audio, that much better. Shelby is a fun character, that many of us could call a friend! Loved that she enjoyed diet coke versus the usual coffee drinkers!

The supporting characters, Ramos, Chris, Uncle Joey, And even Kate, were fun characters.

Colleen did a wonderful job, developing these characters, and the story was interesting and filled with action to keep the reader reading, or listening in my case!

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series to see what trouble Shelby can get into next!

Definitely recommend! I received this audio book as a gift from attending the Facebook party of the 12 Days of Christmas which Colleen Helme is participating in!

Not his best

January Lavoy does an awesome job of narrating this story! There wasn't a single time that I didn't know which character was speaking.... without going too much into detail, there were a couple of scenes that I didn't like toward the end and the end itself with Lyndsay and Joe! In my opinion, the ending did not complete the story... also I would have liked to have seen more of the other women in the "women's murder club" this one was all about Lyndsay.

John Grisham does not disappoint. Partners was well written, easy to follow and enjoyable. The start of a good series. Highly recommend.

Great Corruption Story

John Grisham does a great job of developing the plot of a corrupt Judge, and crime syndicate around an Indian Reservation and gambling casino! Enjoyed this and highly recommend.

A Charming Secret was very enjoyable. A page turner (well not literally since it was an audible) from the beginning! Tonya gave me lots of smiles throughout the story! Love June and Oscar, and the many characters of this small town! I am looking forward to reading more from this author!
