Where did this come from?
Revisado: 04-23-24
I absolutely love reading and listening to books and watching films by Anthony Horowitz. And so I embarked upon reading this series with excitement. I was delighted by book one. But after that, I was shocked. The detailed telling of evil and gore and disgusting-ness went on and on. While the story kept me curious, I actually had to skip ahead quite often. First because it was often grotesque and gross, and secondly because it didn’t seem worth it to put myself through it- it didn’t move the story forward- it was just gratuitous grossness! I imagine his desire to tell an intense adventure story about good vs evil inspired his dedication to detail. But between that and the ending I was really disappointed. Why did Holly, a minor character, accompany one of the 5 to the final battle and do very little, and then be the epilogist? I just have to say I’m happy it’s over and I can move onto his other series which are great from page one to the end. I hope if he reads this review, he gets how much I value all his other work!

Historia
Molly Murphy Sullivan's husband, Daniel, a captain in the New York City police force, is stumped. He's chasing a murderer whose victims have nothing in common - nothing except for the taunting notes that are delivered to Daniel after each murder. And when Daniel receives a note immediately after Molly and her young son, Liam, are in a terrible train crash, Daniel and Molly both begin to fear that maybe Molly herself was the target.

Dismissive
Revisado: 06-23-21
This book covers some very important concepts like samaskaras but is ultimately dismissive of the struggle that it is to let go of things that have been calcified in your energetic system for so long. Yes letting go is the simple solution but it is not always easy and this book brushes over that and instead makes it seem like it is the fault of the individual for not just letting go.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.
