I am so happy I ran across this excellent book. Every thing the author said I have also realized and learned. Anyone who is drawn toward being good and free from sin will benefit greatly from listening and reading and pursuing the truth of God gleaned from the pages of Testing and Temptation.

It is difficult to find new Christian books for the Christian who diligently reads the Bible and has some degree of biblical knowledge. You have to go back 40-100 years to find books that actually are beyond k-2 grade biblically. I guess it’s hard to sell books geared toward higher grades. This book is really good if your just beginning your Christian education, but if you’ve been studying a little while it’s not worth the time it takes to read it. If you are teaching young Christians it might be a good refresher read to help in your presentations.

Pleasantly Surprised

I didn’t set out to buy this book. I came across it while checking out another book. I liked what I heard so well that I decided to buy the kindle and audible versions. It was a great decision! The book is excellent and the author is very skilled at explaining things you might already know and believe but wouldn’t mind a clearer understanding of. I am now going to buy his book on knowing God even better. Also the narrator of the book has a pleasant voice and reads well. I definitely advise this book to any Christian and to anyone who is still lost.

Amazing

Glenn Livingston is a man of God whether he knows it or not. Everything he writes is so scripturallyvsound it amazes me because I get the impression that he is not a believer! The only idea of his that I don’t agree with is the idea that overeating/ binge eating is a modern man induced condition. I don’t agree because gluttony is addressed in the Bible. Glenn’s simile of the inner pig perfectly parallels what the Bible calls the ‘flesh’. Mr. Livingston is Jewish ( I think he said he was ) which explains why he is so intelligently articulate! After all the Jewish people are God’s originally chosen people! This book is excellent and is capable of making a huge difference in people’s lives if they listen and apply his insights. Being trapped in the pigs deception has far more negative ramifications on a persons well being than just the weight.
