Historia
We live in a world obsessed with drinking. We drink at baby showers and work events, brunch and book club, graduations and funerals. Yet no one ever questions alcohol’s ubiquity—in fact, the only thing ever questioned is why someone doesn’t drink. It is a qualifier for belonging and if you don’t imbibe, you are considered an anomaly. As a society, we are obsessed with health and wellness, yet we uphold alcohol as some kind of magic elixir, though it is anything but.

Nothing speaks boredom more than playing the victim

Who says AA works on Willpower ? She is missing THE POINT of AA - a spiritual program… resentment has the urge to break agruments down to statistics to prove a point. I used to think the way she did at 19. Who cares if the egg or the chicken happend first. AA saves lives, has your book had made any impact? Other than enlightening your opinion ?
She has SOME interesting facts, but this was just to cringe to read.

Historia
Esmé Weijun Wang was officially diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in 2013, although the hallucinations and psychotic episodes had started years before that. In the midst of a high functioning life at Yale, Stanford and the literary world, she would find herself floored by an overwhelming terror that 'spread like blood', or convinced that she was dead, or that her friends were robots, or spiders were eating holes in her brain.

got bored
Revisado: 06-03-24
I hold on in vain till the end waiting for something to happen… it is “informative” in the sense that we get to learn about 1 testimony. Yet I got bored of the victimization feeling of being _____ (in this case schizo).
Pd: Lowkey I excepted something more morbid :s
Still It’s well put together. The narrator did a great job.

Painful but brilliant
Revisado: 01-15-24
It felt authentic, exciting, and raw. I had to pause every now and then to cry and address my own delayed grief. I can see now the hype behind this particular book. The beginning is slow but it escalates. First time reading Sylvia Plath, and I'm looking forward to getting to know her more. The narrator matches the personality of the main character. I enjoyed the speaker as much as the book.

Me hizo re-vivir
