Historia
Young Fitz, the illegitimate son of the noble Prince Chivalry, is ignored by all royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has had him tutored him in the dark arts of the assassin. He has barely survived his first, soul-shattering mission, and when he returns to the court, he is thrown headfirst into the tumult of royal life.

Good second
Revisado: 04-09-25
Good second book that definitely makes you want to read the third. I wish there were a little more earth building descriptives but this book suffices in getting to main story line across

Historia
King Shrewd is dead at the hands of his son Regal. As is Fitz - or so his enemies and friends believe. But with the help of his allies and his beast magic, he emerges from the grave, deeply scarred in body and soul. The kingdom also teeters toward ruin: Regal has plundered and abandoned the capital, while the rightful heir, Prince Verity, is lost to his mad quest - perhaps to death. Only Verity's return - or the heir his princess carries - can save the Six Duchies.

Let down
Revisado: 04-09-25
This is really how the series ends? Let someone die or let something bad happen but don’t let the series end with some quasi real life ending where the hero doesn’t get the girl

Filled with adventure and bloodshed, pageantry and piracy, mystery and menace, Assassin's Apprentice is the story of a royal house and the young man who is destined to chart its course through tempests of change.

Maybe if it wasn’t so long
Revisado: 01-16-25
Maybe if the book wasn’t so long I would have given it 5 stars. But it’s cumbersome. It doesn’t really wrap up the storyline which you’d think it would.
The main thing I really want from Sanderson is to bring more Kaladin. That’s what the series starts with and that’s what I want. Maybe do an offshoot book for Witt but focus more on Kaladin. That’s all I read these books for anyways.

The whispering blade
Revisado: 10-10-24
Story was ok. Part of it felt like they wanted to jump into a Batman storyline. The other part was definitely pure shogun fantasy. Overall I was able to get through the whole book although I don’t know if was because I kept hoping something awesome would happen to tie it all together or whether it was because of all the recommendations that the books received but I would not recommend this book to anyone and I would not read this again or read further in the series.

For almost a hundred years, Hadrian Marlowe has served the empire in its war against the Cielcin, a vicious alien race bent on humanity's destruction. Rumors of a new king among the Cielcin have reached the imperial throne. This one is not like the others. It does not raid borderworld territories, preferring precise, strategic attacks on the humans' empire.
