I'm blown away by how amazing this play was. Frankly, I think this is the best way to absorb this material. to be honest, I don't think I could have handled the torture scene in a movie format. my own imagination really filled in the gaps. More stuff like this please Audible 🙏!

Fairly average story

The story eludes to something bigger than what's going on, but it reads like a first change story mixed with stranger things. The demographic for this story feels like it's meant for young adults. Though, it's a good representation for said young audiences, it wasn't for me.

usually I listen to a book while I do chores, but there is no distinction between characters and when she tries to sounds like a guy, the words get muddled and unintelligible. Chapter 3 I have no idea what's going on, and cannot get immersed into the world I've known for so long.

Filler story

It's not that great as the rest of the books. I listened to the first part twice and the second once to make sure I didn't miss anything. Honestly I lost track of how the heck Richter had so many points to spend even though he should be reaching a plateau. Nothing really happens in the book since the entire thing takes place within a week and he still has the curse at the cliff hanger. The battles are cool and thrilling, Richter is super OP at this point. Like I thought the setup was great, but I was hoping for more progression of the overall story. Like the setting up before the battle of wits with Zetrix was terribly long. I mean, I think it made me realize just how important that scene turned out to be but gosh. but it also felt like nothing that happened after that really progressed. the golem creation scene was amazing but these lucky drops were just.. way too convenient. The plot devices were plentiful. I don't know, as the author stated multiple times anyone other than Richter would have died earlier with all those debuffs and large angry monsters. I still think it would make for an interesting movie, just not with that crappy cliffhanger.

it was good, I didn't expect to like it. I identify with the main character with perfectionism and being so caught up that I can't be emotionally involved. I think the ending was rushed but surprised that Dane was still available lol. oh well.

spoilers alert!I think this is certainly up there in my favorite entries. there was so much tension, but Rictor and his macgyvering reminded me of DBZ, always pulling miracles from his ass. I have to admit however that I can't believe three weeks spanned 1 and a half books. Like Rictor learned so much in the week til the storm on the mausoleum and his professionals were gone like 10 days rather than a week and I'm like, is this what my Adhd is like? Holy crap, I couldn't believe he almost died the same way the first assassination! I was in a park and suddenly screamed Nnnoooooooo!!!!! NOT AGAIN!!! I was so angry because I knew it as soon as HeMan showed up. His background story was going too fast for me to piece together his actual nationality, but I was terribly surprised that earth politics would influence interaction s.. but it made sense. I can only guess he was Russian or middle eastern but I lean Russian. I may listen to it again. I really enjoy the authors attention to detail. I can only hope that AI VR RPGs become so robust where in the land, your words have meaning.

Honestly, It felt like listening to an animated cartoon... like a mix between adventure time and the regular show. I loved to music bits too, This was a great medium for this story. The humor was good,

A little too short

I really like the female voice in the story, but I was caught off guard when the male started speaking. I understood it was to illustrate the point of views by the main characters, but I wish they kept the voices of the characters themselves consistent but kept the narration it self the way it was. I think I was too perturbed by the snowy silky voice of Ingrid suddenly sounding like a man in disguise that the meaningfulness of interaction was lost to a lack of immersion. I started losing what character was talking when the voices switched.

The story started slow, but I liked Ingrid and... probably only Ingrid. I felt like the romance was tacked on, that I was more interested in Ingrid's slow progression into socializing, self-healing, building her business and whatever was going on with the science lab. Like, it had a lot going on, but there was just too little time. I really wish it was longer and further fleshed out.

Other than that, it's not thrilling or anything like that. There seems to be too many characters without a real function to the story except for flavor and artificial high school drama. But as I said, this could change if it was fleshed out more.

Incredibly funny, written a bit like snl, but glad there is no 'studio audience'. There are sex jokes, so beware if you play it on a speaker like I do. It's delightfully obnoxious and hilariously evil. Mo is like that inner selfish child that never had to grow up and learn to move with the crowd. Her getting to grips with this realization and be nice is hysterically too much. Send this to your mom!

Here I thought he was going to spend the book fighting Kobolds. There was nothing you could expect to happen next. I'm worried about the direction Rictor is going because I love his personality so much. I wish I was one of his followers swooning over him lol. I do wonder though if the leveling curve is too high? Like, he basically is out pacing others exorbitantly and I'm getting an Anakin Skywalker vibe. The dick jokes are plentiful but don't over stay their welcome. Again, the performance is top notch. I may have to follow this narrator.
