Great find!
Revisado: 10-10-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Rook to be better than the print version?
YES! Susan Duerden does a terrific narration. I have not heard of her before, but I will be looking for other books with her narration. She does a great job with all the characters and has wonderful control of her voice.
What did you like best about this story?
It was just plain fun! It was quirky and kooky and I loved it. Very inventive with lots of characters and a great female protagonist!
Which scene was your favorite?
I liked when she was in the dance bar and met up with her co-worker who is a vampire. Its a funny scene and its very "tongue in cheek" humor.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES!
Any additional comments?
I hope this author continues writing a series for these characters and situations.

Years ago, the magnificent dragon queen Tintaglia forged a bargain with the inhabitants of the treacherous Rain Wilds. In exchange for her protection against enemy invaders, the humans promised to protect an unhatched brood of dragons. But when the dragons emerged as weak and misshapen hatchlings unable to fend for themselves, dragonkind seemed doomed to extinction. When even Tintaglia deserted the crippled young dragons, the Rain Wilders abandoned the burden of caring for the destructive and ravenous creatures.

I loved this series!!!
Revisado: 09-27-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Blood of Dragons to be better than the print version?
YES!! Ann Flosnik is a wonderful narrator!!! She is a pro at doing males, females, dragons, different accents and her voice is so beautiful!
What did you like best about this story?
The characters! I love the way Robin Hobb creates her villians! I also like that each character has inner conflicts that seem real and natural within fantastical settings. I love her descriptive abilities and her attention to detail.
What does Anne Flosnik bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her beautiful voice! Her inflections, her mastery of story telling! She's one of the best up there with Josephine Bailey and Simon Prebble.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
NO FILM!!! My head does better imaginings than any movie would do this story justice.
Any additional comments?
I am so happy to have audible.com. I have had around 3 (maybe 4 ) platinum memberships. Audible has the very best narrators and the easiest and fastest site to downloading books. I would forgo restaurants, new clothes and the like just to have my audible.com platinum membership.

A great trilogy with depth and exciting too.
Revisado: 09-05-13
Would you listen to Ship of Destiny again? Why?
I loved this trilogy especially this final book of the series. I love Anne Flosnik's narration. Her voice is superb. She does each character wonderfully. I was attached to all the characters whether they be "good" or "bad" as the author has a way of showing us both sides of each character.
What other book might you compare Ship of Destiny to and why?
Perhaps Eragon series. Or Robin Hobb's other Farseer's series.
What does Anne Flosnik bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
So much! The accents of each character, the inflections in her voice. She is a true story teller. If I read the book I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much as listening to it.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES!!! I couldn't cook dinner, take care of business, talk to other people lest anything take me away from the story!
Any additional comments?
Loved this series so much. Highly recommended to those who like fantasy novels with excellent charactor developement.

Revisado: 08-07-11
I really liked this book to my suprise! I have a tendency toward books 100 years old or older, so hearing a modern novel was fun. I just finished Maurice, and gay romance stories have certainly got hotter! I loved Maurice as it is so romantic, but this book is romantic and hot all at the same time. Add paranormal werepanthers and you have a good story. I hope she makes a sequel! I also wished lesbian novels were more fun, I am a gay women and we need stories like this one too!!!

One of the greatest mystery thrillers ever written, Wilkie Collins's The Woman in White was a phenomenal best seller in the 1860s, achieving even greater success than works by Charles Dickens. Full of surprise, intrigue, and suspense, this vastly entertaining novel continues to enthrall audiences today.

I never read a book by Wilkie Collins, and I truely enjoyed this one. My favorite narrators both! What a treat. Simon Prebble and Josephine Bailey. I truely hope they read a book together again. Someone please hire both of these readers over and over! The book itself had a great story. It is still an intriguing story after all this time. Loved it!

Wives and Daughters, Elizabeth Gaskell's last novel, is regarded by many as her masterpiece. Molly Gibson is the daughter of the doctor in the small provincial town of Hollingford. Her widowed father marries a second time to give Molly the woman's presence he feels she lacks, but until the arrival of Cynthia, her dazzling stepsister, Molly finds her situation hard to accept. Intertwined with the story of the Gibsons is that of Squire Hamley and his two sons.

Historia
Set in the industrialising England of the Napoleonic wars, a period of bad harvests, Luddite riots, and economic unrest, Shirley is the story of two contrasting heroines and the men they love. One is the shy Caroline Helstone, trapped in the oppressive atmosphere of a Yorkshire rectory, whose life represents the plight of single women in the 19th century. The other is the vivacious Shirley Keeldar, who inherits a local estate and whose wealth liberates her from convention.

Nothing can stop me from loving Bronte
Revisado: 05-31-11
This novel is long, 24 hours of listening pleasure. It was so very interesting, considering it is a historical piece. I love learned about the Napolean era and the effects it had on England. Charlotte weaves in the characters within this terrible time in history. The narrator is excellent. I was lost in time once again. I am amazed that Charlotte wrote and completed this book during a span of which her 3 remaining siblings died. Her brother, Ann Bronte, and Emily Bronte. She is definitely a novelist I would have liked to meet!
