Historia
Matthew Turner doesn't have faith in anything. Not in family - his is a shambles after his younger brother was bullied into suicide. Not in so-called friends who turn their backs when things get tough. Not in some all-powerful creator who lets too much bad stuff happen. And certainly not in some "It Gets Better" psychobabble. No matter what his girlfriend Hayden says about faith and forgiveness, there's no way Matt's letting go of blame.

Not impressed.
Revisado: 02-19-20
I'll start by saying, yes, yes! I LEGIT dislike your life story.
Again, I'll start with my first thought and end with the last.
1: BORING. Some white girl who was just an editor is hooked on addys. Ok, that's a serious drug but I'm about 5 hours in and I'm still waiting for the interesting stuff to happen.
2: You didnt even hit rock bottom. You even mentioned it in the book! I cant quote exactly, but it went like "I am not even hitting rock bottom yet, I still had a great job and had doctors prescribing me whatever I wanted." That's great! Once again, the drug addict is getting her way still. I'm still waiting for the "rock bottom."
3: insulted by saying "and here you are listening to this audiobook with your little sheep ears." although some people who spend the money and download this book may have "sheep ears," I dont have this. I used to be a drug addict myself, and listen to A LOT of memoirs. Hell, half of my collection is full of peoples stories.
At the very end of it all, you still had a job and barely lost everything. You still had possessions and you still had your family. That's a lot for an "addict." And you barely had to sell your own things to fuel your addiction. To be a true addict, you must lose EVERYTHING.
As you know, these are just my opinions. Opinions that I base on my own experiences.
I want my 15 dollars back.

the narrator had a really fun voice. this is definitely a good read. theres a lot of points where it will make you cringe, but it really does describe a true addict's life.

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Billy Todd has always been different. Most people called him odd, and those were the nice people. Though he was born with a learning disability, Billy's parents never allowed him to consider himself disabled. Raised to be self-sufficient, Billy might not be as smart as some, but he was a lot smarter than people realized.

From Martin Clark - praised by Entertainment Weekly as "our best legal-thriller writer" - comes a wickedly clever, tenderhearted, and intricately plotted novel about a hard-luck lawyer's refusal to concede defeat, even as fate, the court system, and a gang of untouchable con artists conspire against him.

AMAZING STORY!
Revisado: 02-01-20
If I truly understood "political" and "lawyer" speech, I would have completely 20000 percent enjoyed it! But it did do an amazing job to explain majority of the terms. There were a couple times I spaced, but other than that I understood everything else and still completely enjoyed the story! HATED HOW IT ENDED!!!! JUST HATED IT!!!!! But still AMAZING!!!!!
Honestly I ask myself "since I didnt like the end, how would I have ended this story?" and I really couldn't figure out how. Either way, it was still a great ending, i just wish there could have been something else!!! or ended it after hearing what happened to good ole Mr. Flanagan!

listen,
you say there was obvious plot holes, although that might be somewhat true, it still didnt qualify. we did not know how it was all gonna go down exactly. yes you could say I'm completely offended by your review, and I truly hope you come across this review and read my response.
This is in my top 3 most favorite books of Ellen Hopkins. I had no idea how this one truly meant to her until the author's note at the very end. I am not a mother myself, but just know I could really feel the pain through this book. I loved the story, I loved the plot itself, and I loved the rollercoaster of emotions I went through while listening. I actually got legit upset one day at work because I couldnt listen to this book AT ALL, mainly because I had a coworker working with me that day (I am a driver and drive alone most days.)
what an incredible book. incredible story. incredible author. I'm about to buy yet another one of your books and continue with your amazing writing.
I love you Ms. Ellen Hopkins.

Historia
Hen and her husband, Lloyd, have settled into a quiet life in a new house outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Hen (short for Henrietta) is an illustrator and works out of a studio nearby and has found the right meds to control her bipolar disorder. Finally, she’s found some stability and peace. But when they meet the neighbors next door, that calm begins to erode as she spots a familiar object displayed on the husband’s office shelf. The sports trophy looks exactly like one that went missing from the home of a young man who was killed two years ago.
