Historia
When an unknown someone shoots him and leaves him to die, Harry Dresden hopes he might be heading to a better place. Unfortunately being dead doesn't make Harry's life any easier. Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble. Only by finding his murderer can he save his friends and move on - a feat that would be a lot easier if he had a body and access to his powers. Worse still are the malevolent shadows that roam Chicago, controlled by a dark entity that wants Harry to suffer even in death.

This is my least favorite Dresden book
Revisado: 01-22-23
This book is like all those episodes of your favorite shows which spends the majority of the runtime flashing back over scenes from the first couple of seasons that can be associated with the current events of the current episode. It's super heavy on ye olde exposition and for me I was a bit disappointed. I love this character, I love these books. This is the one book I routinely skip in the series. Buy it to support the author! Just don't expect to be on the edge of your seat for the duration.

hard not to cry writing this. it will be the last book in an epic who's volumes stand, stacked one upon another, nearly as tall as I am. we will all miss your sterling works of fiction. thank you for all you have given us.

What does everyone in the modern world need to know? Renowned psychologist Jordan B. Peterson's answer to this most difficult of questions uniquely combines the hard-won truths of ancient tradition with the stunning revelations of cutting-edge scientific research. Humorous, surprising, and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street.

Word salad and Bible verse.
Revisado: 05-11-18
I used to sort of respect JBP but honestly I don't know what he was thinking with this. It was a lot of self help couched in his own very Christian views and he used to outright deny being religious and touted himself as an intellectual. Now I just think he is an overblown huxter who can't tell when he isn't making sense anymore.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Revisado: 04-27-16
I enjoyed the book. I wouldn't call it the best thing I have ever read but I found it entertaining enough to maintain my interest overall, though I found my attention flagging on occasion. Mr. Martin is a fine writer and has developed an intriguing world. Though he does tend to go on excessively from my perspective. Sometimes I found myself wishing that I could easily skip a few paragraphs to get the story moving once again.
The vocal performence was fine, though there are times where it feels like Mr. Dotrice is trying entirely too hard. I would love to hear this with a cast of performers.

Historia
This short story "Emerald Towers" is fiction, but resounds with emotional truth, in describing the hearts of Brent Spiner and Gail Chord Schuler from 1990 to 2001. Gail, in 2000, had two biopsies for breast cancer, which, fortunately, came out negative. This experience inspired her to write this story. Other than the fact that she did not have breast cancer, this short story resounds with emotional truth.

Tame when compared to her other works.
Revisado: 09-08-15
I had to check out a little more of this individuals work after she came to my attention on YouTube. I listened and was unimpressed. Just consider an author writing a fiction about themselves and then also doing the voice acting for it. Way to go Audible, you have managed to find a way to make money off of horrible fan fiction. You bastards. Anyway back to the "book". Our intrepid author and protagonist and voice actress goes on a trip down cancer lane with the guy who played Data from Star Trek: TNG, insists that she, as a mild mannered house wife, has exposed a dark plot from a rival church yet makes no mention of what the hell she exposed, and then has her cancer magically cured because reasons!
It's not the craziest fan fic I have read, like I said it's relatively tame. That said Jesus, the Eternal Bridegroom has Bubba the Black Jesuit, aaaaaand that shit broke my funnybone in two.

Historia
Mort, like many teenagers, is gangly, unpromising, and struggling with a menial job - in his case, as Death's apprentice. He can barely handle his simple task of ushering souls out of Discworld, but he really screws up when he meets the beautiful Princess Keli, who is scheduled to be assassinated. Going against his boss's wishes, Mort kills Keli's assassin instead, which angers and interferes with Fate. But Mort's heroism seems to be for naught, since Discworld proceeds as though Keli had been killed.

It's Pratchett, you love him or you go to hell!
Revisado: 07-12-15
Classic Pratchett, the personification of death is one of the main characters, more puns than you can shake a loud groan at and a taste for the tongue in cheek. The readers voice work is very good. However, it takes a hit as a result of the poor quality of the recording. it's not unbearable just rather sounds like it's echoing through a tin can on the end of string stretching all the way from Discworld.
