Historia
When the most unimaginable tragedy occurred in her life, it was as though Dr. Annabelle had prepared for this very moment all along. Having her son Macario, and being told that the removal of 40% of his brain at five weeks old would greatly inhibit developmental processes both physically and mentally became the defining turn. Macario’s brain loss and Dr. Annabelle’s quick response became an awakening moment for Dr. Annabelle. This story of finding cannabis and taking risks to replace the medications that were initially given to him is compelling and inspirational.

A Real Life Superhero
Revisado: 09-11-23
This book beautifully weaved the relatable story of a mother fighting for her son’s life with education and the history of cannabis, while offering real, tangible and digestible solutions.
Mothers are superheroes. Especially ones with a mission like Dr Annabelle! Im in awe and it makes me feel like there is nothing I cannot accomplish if I set my mind to it.

Historia
Two victims of the infamous Cleveland kidnapper share the story of their abductions, their decade in captivity, and their final, dramatic rescue. On May 6, 2013, Amanda Berry made headlines around the world when she fled a Cleveland area home and called 911, saying: “Help me, I’m Amanda Berry...I’ve been kidnapped, and I’ve been missing for 10 years". A horrifying story rapidly unfolded. Ariel Castro, a local school bus driver, had separately lured Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight to his home, where he kept them chained in the basement.

Heart wrenching and inspirational

I couldn’t put this book down. I was wrapped up in the story like I was witnessing the torment and underlying emotions of fear, grief and hope throughout their story. I would definitely recommend this story. It was eye opening and made me think about the idea that there may be many others enduring this even now.
